I think I sat next to her on a flight from London to Atlanta in the late 80s. She was large, at the arse-end of middle age, had a southern accent, and drank G&T after G&T. The more she drank the more she droned on to me about how Watson and Crick stole all her ideas. I had at first thought that she might be embittered, alcoholic Rosalind Franklin, until I realised that Ms Franklin was a) British not American and b) ever-so slightly dead for thirty years. ---
