i’d still be more upset that the big cat was eaten by zombies.

buttons was a beautiful horsie, so sad.

i’m wondering when the unfair wolves will show up. they seem to use the zombies as weapons. icky, yet interesting.

I think I disagree. It’s a fair assumption that at this point – 2 years in – any new recruits will be in a similar state as Rick’s group. I’m thinking Rick’s group would have been able to relate to a Daryl type way better than they would the polite, joke-cracking, clean, freshly groomed Aaron.

As was I about the question of zombies eating non-human animals.

I maintain that since zombies eat animals, it’s highly unlikely any animals would still be around. 300 million predators just appear out of thin air, your odds of survival go in the toilet.

Bolts are simple to make. A wooden dowel, a metal tube, a whittled stick, with a metal or stone point on one end, and feathers, plastic, or leather vanes on the other.

Plus, Daryl has the option of reusing his projectiles.

While walkers will eat any live animals that they can catch, walkers are slow, noisy, and do not have access to weapons, or reason, or logic.

Buttons was trapped in a high fence enclosure. Strike one. Aaron and Daryl were blocking the only exit. Strike two. Buttons was trained not to kick the living crap out of the actors playing the walkers, or paw them, or bite them. Strike three.

Domesticated animals might not have survived this long. Dairy cows aren’t going to milk themselves and will die from not being milked. Horses, bison, wolves, badgers, mink, deer, owls, eagles, robins, etc., that are allowed to roam free will survive long after every human has turned zombie.

Pair that with his vaguely threatening greeting to Rick from the porch and episode or two ago, and it seems like they’re trying to set something up there. Or they’re just flinging red herrings around like cracked out fishmongers, which I wouldn’t put past them.
>
> Did anyone else get a creepy vibe from the party? Again, it’s probably just the writers, but I felt like everyone was way too interested in Rick’s drink. I was half-sure he was going to end up roofied before the night was through.

Husband was being friendly and said he was going to get drinks for them, Jessie said she could do it and he said “I’m on it” in the tone of voice that sounded really sick of the nagging and controlling. Or something. Leaving her with Rick almost seemed like Jessie is supposed to seduce Rick or something. Can’t figure that one out.

Good point. The obvious differences in attitude and appearance of a Daryl/Aaron team would allow them to chose the team member who would most likely relate to any potential recruit(s) during initial contact.

Didn’t Carol say something to the effect that she didn’t want to return with having fried only 1 bullet lest the Homies think she is a crack shot?

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned the most important part of the Carol and kid scene.

Carol stealing the chocolate. THAT’S going to be the thing that unravels their creepy take-over plan.

The quartermaster girl will note the extra ration of chocolate missing and report it–there will be an Alexandrian investigation. Rick as constable will try to cover it up. It will be mentioned in front of the kid who will tell his parents and the dad, jealous of what’s going on with Rick and his wife, will go to the Congresswoman. She’ll have to do something about Carol’s thievery.

Yup. There was a chalkboard on the wall that listed how many of each food item was in the freezer (8 bars of chocolate.) They’ll notice that is missing way before the guns.

Carol screwed the pooch on that one. First, the kid shouldn’t have been able to follow her and crawl through the window without her knowing. Big, tough survivalist, right? Then stealing more chocolate, then threatening the kid and expecting he’s never, ever going to tell. Maybe she stole the chocolate to cover for the missing guns if she’s caught. Still, it wasn’t a good plan.

It was agreed at the party in front of many people that Carol could and would make another batch of cookies. It’s not a stretch for her to say she thought it was ok to take the chocolate for that batch of cookies.

I don’t think birds or squirrels would have too hard of a time evading the clumsy hordes.
a lot of other species would be in for some trouble, though…

I have a hard time believing that Morgan would a) mark zombies with an M on the forehead and let them go or b) mark humans with an M and then kill them and let them turn.

Regarding Morgan, he’s 600 miles away in Atlanta. Pretty much the only way we can ever see Morgan again is with deus ex machina.
