So how do they get out of this mess? Presumably the town is still surrounded by walkers so how do they escape? Way too many walkers to fight off and too few real soldiers. ---

He discharged a firearm (i.e. created an explosion) and could not have attempted to brace against the recoil, since it was discharged into his own brain. Glenn just grabbed on to him at that point and went down with him. I’m not 100% sure what you are describing with the rest of it, but there does seem to have been a bit of shenanigans with the blocking of the scene via editing. To me that’s hardly an issue compared to the fact that while yeah, Nicholas’ body could have semi-shielded him, with that many walkers it just wouldn’t have been enough. There would have been plenty of them that couldn’t get to the meaty intestines but would have been going for bites on Glenn’s arms and legs immediately, concurrent with the others chowing down on the top layer of the party dip (as another poster coined it in a previous thread). I don’t love the way they did this particular scene with Glenn either, but it’s far from the most egregious “unrealistic” thing I’ve accepted on television. ---

Well, it probably wouldn’t be difficult to rig an effective inner barrier and just spike every zombie that gets close. The church tower itself will slow them down. Then get some vehicles that are inside Alexandra and move them into position. Of course, all of this requires a minimal level of intelligence so… Alexandra’s finished. ---

My guess is that most of them don’t get out of it. Probably one or two of the ancillary characters survive while all the main crew except for one survive. Then they start over with the wandering and looking for a place to live again (probably after getting split up during the escape from Alexandria and spending an inordinate amount of time showing them trying to find each other or worrying about each other). Rinse, repeat. ---

I have no idea what the significance of the scene was, but I did chuckle when Gabriel was putting up flyers for his prayer circle. Rick walks by, tears down the flyer, keeps walking without breaking stride. Gabriel gives him a pained look, hangs up another flyer. ---

This episode felt kind of boring to me. Glenn’s survival was annoying given how long they waited and how coy they were about it. Not to mention the ridiculousness of both Glenn’s apparent death and his survival. With all the forced mystery and cheap tricks, it feels like J.J. Abrams is writing this season. I’m still watching, but only as long as my free trial of Sling keeps up. It didn’t help that I already knew Glenn was going to live, thanks to Huffington Post spoiling it in a headline days before the episode even aired. Apparently it’s not enough for me to avoid the HuffPo website, but I apparently need to blacklist it from my news aggregators as well. > [@Mahaloth](#): > > Did Steven Yuen get paid for the episodes he missed? Perhaps less so for Andrew Lincoln, since he seems to be the only non-expendable person among the entire cast and crew. Quick question about an earlier episode (“JSS”): shouldn’t Enid have contracted salmonella from eating a raw turtle? ---

Still, turtle or not, salmonella risk or not, I suppose if you’re about to starve to death, it’s time for those kinds of drastic measures. Never mind that if she was just hungry, but not starving, then a bout of salmonella would surely have set her much farther back on nutrition and hydration than just skipping the turtle would have. She certainly didn’t look severely malnourished. Then again, she’s a kid, and probably didn’t think of it. I probably wouldn’t have at her age and in her situation, either. ---

The turtle flesh was raw, but being ripped fresh, straight off the carcass. I don’t think there’d be enough time for a concern about salmonella taking hold.
