Out of that entire episode Carl’s “just do it dad” was the best bit of writing by miles. Compare this episode to Better Call Sauls season 2 final episode, the scene with Mike and the rifle, wordless, brilliantly acted/directed, and filmed. that one scene of a few minutes contains more talent than an entire season of TWD. ---

If anyone’s finding _TWD_ too pointlessly bleak, I highly recommend switching over to _Z Nation_, which has all the gore and violence but the occasional laugh - its most recent episode incorporated a _One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest_ parody. ---

I love Z-Nation because while it laughs at itself it does have a serious thread running through it. I’ve lost track of the number of times a villain had Rick in his crosshairs and failed to pull the trigger. Rick has layers and layers of plot armor. Negan should’ve killed him and put one of his people in charge of the remainder of Rick’s group. ---

Well, you picked a fine time to cleave me Lucille. I normally have a stomach of iron, but my chips and salsa weren’t quite so appetizing through those scenes. Like others, I didn’t care for how it dragged on. I got bored. I wanted someone to yell at Negan to shit or get off the pot. Just stop talking already. Then two guys get clubbed like a baby seal and both of them managed to stay upright for a final line. Ugh. I was irritated that Negan chose Carl’s left arm. It bugged my sense of symmetry; at least let his body parts all be harvested from the same side. I suppose I’ll keep watching but I’ve lost enough interest that I probably won’t mute my husband when it’s on. ---

The episode broke my heart. ☹ I knew it was coming but then when it happens, it feels like shit. I had to wait for days to get the image of Glen out of my head. ---
