I once read that a lot of the scare generated in the cold war about the Soviets “winning” was based on wild speculation and, in hindsight, blatent lying on the part of the Soviets. I’m not surprised that this would be one of their methods.
I am surprised, however, that similar agitprop is now being used not to support an ideological war, but a war of the American government on the common sense of the American people…
Or maybe I’m just saddened…
