There’s also a bit of an “anti-wave” movement in the bleachers at Fenway nowadays. Several times this year I’ve seen T-shirts there to that effect… things like a wave inside a “no smoking” circle/line.
Nothing – it gives those who like it something to do/watch, and it gives faux-cool folks folks something to bitch about. Win-win!
The folks in the Center Field bleachers tried several times on Friday night, but thankfully it mostly fizzled out. The Sox were losing by a run to the Yankees; no time for The Wave IMO. Frankly, there’s never really a good time for the Wave. Sweet Caroline is enough, darn it. We don’t need more than that.
I was going to post that they did it at Fenway when I was there on July 4th. Gah. It’s sacriledge. Watch the game, people. I hate the wave!
Agreed. And I dislike the wave intensely as well, but they do do it up right in Mad-Town. (My alma mater too; go Big Red!)
