No I don’t know why there was a wizard in the parade. I was working during these goings-on.) **Alien** , Katie Cat snores. I can hear her on her chair while I’m sitting on the couch sometimes. It snowed last night! Just about an inch or so, but SNOW! 😃 There is much rejoicing here in the House of People Who Love Winter. ---

**Spaz** I have seen Victorian Santa Claus suits that had the black trim. Maybe Santa was feelin’ his Victorian roots for the Hippy Hollow parade. 😃 I am deheathenated and well fed. I’m still full from brunch/lunch. Lots of yummy stuff! We do good brunch/lunch. ‘Tis chillified in these here parts too. I have chicken parts (boobs, thighs and laigs) boiled and coolin’ off for chikin ‘n dumplin’s for tomorrow. Also I have sauteed ground beef with onions and taco seasonin’ that will be quesadillas one night this week. I’m thinkin’ chili may even show up this week. It’s supposed to be fairly cool all week so plans are for cool weather kinds of foodstuffs. Oh and I had a nappy poo. ---

Hmmm, interesting costume. Looks kinda old-fashioned or something. Or what **swampy** said. 😃 We went to the closing service for my niece’s retreat this morning (so I was Whiskypalian for a day again). Lots of energy. And hand gestures to go with several hymns. Made me smile. Lunch was provided by Johnny Rocket’s (we had a coupon, so it was even tastier!). After that, we went to the Franklin Park Conservatory and walked around, admired plants and blown glass and gingerbread houses. So now we’re chilling out and then brother will take nephew home and the weekend will be pretty much over. Guess I should get something done… Hugs. GT ---

Well, looks like daughter’s house search is off for a while. She’s tried calling several places about getting a mortgage, including our credit union, and we also took a hard look at her finances. Bottom line, it’ll be lots easier if she sticks to a plan we worked out - and this time next year, she’ll have a big chunk of cash and (fingers crossed) a job in a county that pays better. So one more year… I’m almost done with today’s laundry. Crocheting didn’t go well. I had to undo/redo a square, and it turns out I don’t have enough yarn to finish it. Too bad - it was a pretty shade of blue. So I pulled out another, bigger skein. Thus endeth the weekend. Back to the grind tomorrow. ---

However, people with no historical knowledge were traumatized and made sure their children were traumatized by this fur color change. Serious tempest in a teapot. What I want to know is how is Santa supposed to keep his white trim clean when he’s going down chimneys? There’s soot in chimneys. That would rub off on his nice clean white fur. It would end up black anyway. ---

Sorry to have been absent this week. Congrats to you \*\*Bobbio \*\*and **Swampy!** Hugs to those in need too! WRT to the Santa Suit. Really, people just don’t pay any attention to history do they? The ONLY reason Santa is depicted as having a red suit with white trim is because of the Old Coca-Cola advertising campaign. :rolleyes: I thought the Hippy Hollow Santa costume was kind of cool, actually. It sort of reminded of Victorian times, too. The St. Nick I’m familiar with wore dark green robes. Life has been busy, busy, busy. Knocked out my son’s birthday gifts and one of his Christmas presents today. I also picked up a new set of flatware for myself. All my flatware was disappearing. Well, I need to dash to the gas station and grocery store. I don’t want to have to deal with buying gas in the morning. ---

**Spaz** - Was that Hugh Hefner handing out loot to the kiddies? Perv. (Him, not you) I don’t know how Peanut injured himself. Animals can be mighty inventive in finding ways to spend my money. Stopped off at the grocery store on the way from the hospital tonight for some dinner and got some eggnog. The container says “non-alcoholic” - I’m correcting this oversight. More later, but the Readers Digest version is: DH, chest pain, crappy ER, sister argues with MD, tells him to actually read EMTALA, transport to good hospital, no deteceted heart muschle damage, angioplasty tomorrow. So, that’s why the effnog is alcoholic tonight. ---
