So, everyone who uses Netflix has certainly gotten recommendations from it that leave them baffled. I’d like to hear the most ludicrous ones you’ve gotten.

Mostly because Netflix’s ‘weird rec’ hit a new record for me, today, and I wanted to share it.

The recommendation bar was:

‘Because you watched ABCs of Death 2’

… The first one on the screen was:

Pokemon Indigo League.

Pokemon must have really changed after I stopped following it!

I noticed the other day they were getting strange too. The one that tipped me off was they recommended:

[Oklahoma City, A documentary about Timothy McVeigh](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6333090/?ref_=nv_sr_2)

because of my interest in Cheers

Not Netflix, but DoorDash. I use DoorDash fairly often, but I never order anything from a place that is close to my house (I live in walking distance to quite a few), and always get pretty healthy stuff. It’s usually from a Thai or Indian restaurant.

So I get this message from DoorDash the last time I logged on: Based on your earlier choices, you might like this restaurant: And it’s a Burger joint that I can walk to in 5 minutes from house. :smack::smack::smack:

Netflix once recommended a chick-flic and a romantic comedy, two genres I hate. That’s when I realized I had to create a separate profile for my gf.

I have the same problem with Amazon. I have Prime, and I allow coworkers to order stuff using my account.

Netflix might get better data if they weighed whether I watched a significant portion of a show. I get “because you watched X you might like Y” on shows that I dumped after 10 minutes.
