# The Whammy

Years and years ago, my sister-in-law and I were commiserating of the terrible misfortunes that always manage to befall our family. Murphy must be a distant relative, because anything and everything happens to us.
We even gave a name to our kind of luck: the “W” whammy.
The Whammy is alive and kicking.
The Son works for a prison. He’s a Warehouse Supervisor, I think.
Once COVID testing became available, at the very beginning of this pandemic, he was tested at least once a week. As soon as the vaccine was released, all employees were given the shots.
Because of the possibility of breakthrough infections, he still gets tested.
This week, he showed “positive.”
The Daughter-in-law AND COTU#3 both have fevers. They will be tested today.
Without going into the whole series of conversations with The Daughter-in-law, she has refused vaccination.
I’m not happy.
Send a few good thoughts in our direction, please.

I’m so sorry. I forgot the explanation at the bottom of the post.
Mr VOW and I have three grandkids. The first one was called “The Center of the Universe.” or COTU, for short. Of course.
When the second was born, she automatically became COTU#2. It therefore became necessary for the third kid to be COTU#3.

#1 and #2 are The Daughter’s offspring. #3 belongs to The Son.
