Here I am just off the list of the infirm and shut in and already water balloons are bein’ lobbed at me. 😃 I shall return to the orifice tomorrow. Of course, it will be rain/tstorms/apocalypse, i.e. a good day to be in da cave. Yet another reason why it’s called irk. Plus, I am makin’ plans to roam the territory next week as there’s stuff I need to go take care of and people I need to see. Mr. I Stick My Hands Down Garbage Disposals has not made the list of priorities, however. Those index tabs do need to be color coded after all. The installation of OYKW’s water heater has been accomplished. He can once again shower in the confines of his own digs. He is happy. I still say he should sell the place and just move in da cave, but that’s a battle for down the road. ---

Good wishes to everyone who is sick or testing or applying. Got a text from my son last afternoon when he found out that it was 106F on our front porch. It came as I was facing down a deadline, so I didn’t gush over it particularly. It cooled down overnight, though, so we’ll see if it’s decided to be Summer or not. Son and DIL in AZ announced that they’re expecting but don’t want me spreading the news. You people are safe to tell because you won’t be prodding them or devastated if it doesn’t stick. So, woo-hoo! On the down side, they’re going to expect me to visit more often. ---

I just finished a few hours in my studio - I painted on the silhouettes of amish men, amish women, and non-amish crabs on the 6 spoon rests. Tomorrow, I’ll put clear glaze over them and they’ll be kiln-ready. I also did most of the glazing on a steampunk pot - not hard but tedious and time-consuming. My work stool isn’t very comfy, even with a cushion on it. I need to do something about that. I frosted the cake and I’ve decided what I’ll make for dinner. FIL should be in with his Dr right now, and barring anything weird, they should be heading back within the hour. They’ll stop for supper, and should be home by 9. All in all, a quiet and boring afternoon. It’s stayed overcast and cool - no a/c - YAY!! 😃 And that’s pretty much it. Life of a retiree… 😃 ---

My sister has a friend who wants to know what I’ll charge to make an infant’s mermaid costume. I dunno - depends on how much the shells for the bra cost… 😃 I asked her to send me a link to what she has in mind - how do you give an estimate for such a general request? “My base price starts at $100…” 😃 ---

But I’ve never been through the baby anticipation thing before. The baby anticipation thing is cool - especially when there’s zero chance that I’ll be the one having morning sickness. I saw two ultrasounds. So far it looks like the most recent incarnation of Marvin the Paranoid Android. ETA - according to the boy, it doesn’t stay still long enough to get an easy picture. ---

I just heated up and et some leftovers cause I was hongree. OYKW says he’ll venture by at some point to heat him up some leftovers. He’s still dealin’ with irkstuff and may be there a while. Supper was good. Cake was good. Knittage will begin soon - and I can watch Colbert and the Daily Show since FIL isn’t here. Now more Wheel. No more Trebek! YAY!! I’ve got the dishwasher running. I had to - all of the spoons were dirty!! OK, other stuff, too, but still, 16 spoons! But they’ll be clean soon. 😃 ---
