The "What The Hell?" thread

Yes. Exactly that.

When I was in high school (class of 1967,) my algebra teacher told us of a pair of German military skis he had brought back from WW II. The underside of each ski was done in seal skin, with the hairs pointed back. That was to offer resistance to back-sliding, he said.

Very common for X-Country Skiers. They are called skins

I’ve got one that happened to me the other day, but it’s creepy, just weird. Went to the allergist and I’m waiting and I’m waiting and I’m waiting…and then the nurse calls my name. Me and another woman jump up at exactly the same time…and then give each other the same befuddled looks.

My name is very unusual in the States. I have never met anyone with my name, ever. I have never been to a doctor’s office and had another person with my name. I was blown away.

I had this happen but it was the same first and last name. I was selling appliances and I was entering the guy’s info into the PC for delivery.
First name?
Bob.
Last name?
Bobalewancheskiovich.
Seroiusly?
Yep.
That’s my name.

My name is Terry Lee xxxxx and in 1978 I lived with a lady whos name is Teri Leigh xxxxx.
Made for some interesting responses from people that called and didn’t know either of our nicknames.

How did he maintain acceleration?

Speaking of names, when you are “Rivkah VeryJewishLastName,” in Manhattan, you are definitely not the only one, but for some reason, for a couple of years, I was the only one with a listing in the phone book. I used to get calls for all the other Rivkahs all the time, and about one in three wrong numbers would ask me “Well, do you have her phone number?” Yeah, let me get the phone list from the “Rivkah VeryJewishLastName” club. We just had a meeting last night.

Throttle locks. All those moron street stunt riders have them.

Knowing ducks, they were probably trying to figure out how to sexually assault the snake.

As noted, an axe ain’t always the right tool. Perhaps a more appropriate question: Why a wood handle on the sledge hammer?

AKA “suicide throttles”
