The "what's your favorite organ" thread

This one . I sing along with it every Sunday.

Any votes for the autonomic nervous system, without which, the naughty bits would cease to function.

The placenta…because its the “bodies only disposable organ”

For some reason, that just amuses me.

body’s…body’s (sorry about that).

Er, just take a wild guess

I’ve always been fond of the Mormon Tabernacle Organ in Salt Lake City.

I only opened this thread to see how many posts before someone said “Hammond B3.”

I’d like to note that I was first in the “not-quite-what-the-OP-had-in-mind” category with my Wurlitzer post…

The prostate - joy of man’s desiring.

And I’ll 2nd or 3rd the Hammond B-3 with a pair of Leslie speakers. Turn it up and make that fucker scream!

My favorite organ is the Gall Bladder. It became my favorite after reading about how it was invented by the famous Dr. Samuel Gall.

If you think you’ve got poetry in your blood, then you’ve got a good, active hematopoetic system. Shakespeare probably had an excellent hematopoetic system. The rest of us have to make do with plain old hematopoiesis, in which we make simple, poetry-free blood.

Where did you read about Dr. Samuel Gall? I was introduced to Gall’s work through a recorded lecture, given at The Hungry I (if I’m not mistaken), many, many years ago.

Who else here, upon reading this thread, thought “And there’s Organ Leroy, at his organ again…”

Definitely the brain, with the naughty bits running a close second.

The liver, however, is evil and must be punished.

I remember saying to a Priest once, “that’s some size of an organ you’ve got there Father”
<tumbleweed rolls by>

Might’ve heard about him via Dr. Lehrer.

That’s how I did anyway.

My favorite organ would be the pipe, I think.

Steak.

[Beavis] Oh, my liver![/Beavis]

I think I’ll go with the uvula because it’s just so danged fun to say. Not to mention all the cartoons (and Muppets) in which it’s promently featured.

I’m also quite fascinated by men’s “dangly bits” for some reason. I just think they’re really neat to look at. :o

Methinks thou hast just been whooshed.

My “recorded lecture given at the Hungry I” was the live recording “That Was The Year That Was.” I’m a major Tom Lehrer fan, and I wanted to know if Ponder had somehow managed to get a transcript, or something.

My favorite organ is skin. Is there any other organ you’d prefer covering you?

Not I.

(I’ve got all his albums. I was singing along to Poisoning Pigeons in the Park while driving just a couple of days ago. I’ve also read the liner notes many time and immediately spotted the significance of the Hungry I.)
