Do we know if these injuries are legit or are they guys who really do not want any blame for a team on the rocks so feign an injury? (really asking) ---

They also probably smelled the stink on this team well before opening day, so that’s not great for motivating anyone. ---

And the team batting average drops further after a stirring 5-for-30 (.167) performance in the opener today. This team is epically, historically awful. ---

I got a Seat Geek email today for the Sox Rays series. I can get tickets for $4 for next Friday’s game. Seats in the outfield are $10-$15. There are some nicer seats for $20-$30. I checked Monday’s night game and there’s plenty of tickets for $1-$5. I might just go for the hell of it. Too bad concessions are insane these days. And parking in an official lot is still $30. ---

Home run hitters not only get the huge contracts, they also just trot around the bases. Many of them are not in any better shape than your office worker who plays in a weekend softball league. So, when they have to really turn it on trying to stretch a single into a double, go from first to third on a single to right, etc, “TWANG!”! There goes a muscle or a tendon or whatever. Last year and now this year, we’ve had an epidemic of these kinds of injuries. ---

The Sox continue to be pathetic. Last night, against the Phillies, they didn’t get a hit until the 7th inning, only got two hits overall, and lost 7-0. They are 3-16, and out of their 19 games played, they’ve been shut out seven times. Their team batting average is now down to .190, worst in MLB. They’re also last in runs (by a wide margin), OBP, slugging, and home runs. ---
