“Dr” Oz the quackpot, just like a few other too full of themselves celebs, thought it would be a good idea to [invite questions on Twitter](http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2014/11/12/americas-quack-dr-oz-asks-people-to-ask-him-questions-on-twitter-hilariously-the-results-arent-quite-what-he-expected/#.VGNtzMeq8AU.twitter). I have no love for the guy, but he’s a cardiac surgeon, so the sneer quotes around “Dr” seem inappropriate. Which is not to say he isn’t a woo-peddling huckster quack. ---

The shots at the Food Babe’s “article” on airplane travel are pretty hilarious as well. Did you know that apparently they don’t put 100% oxygen in the cabin, but instead put in 50% nitrogen? Everybody knows our bodies need oxygen, not nitrogen! I demand airlines start pumping in 100% pure O2 just like nature intended! And who knows exactly how toxic this foreign nitrogen gas is to humans?! Dr. Oz, that’s who. ---

Not only is he a heart surgeon, at one time he was considered to be one of the best in the New York area. I was reading Stiff by Mary Roach and she talks with him about some case or another but he wasn’t treated as anything more than just a regular heart surgeon in the book, I think it was before he became a celebrity doctor.
