Now, in response to your question- **Wildest Bill** was banned for suspicions of trolling in GQ and GD, as well as misposting GD topics in GQ repeatedly.

The mention of **WB** jangled something in my brain. It took awhile but it finally came to me.
The last message posted on the temp board was from Bill, apologizing and wanting to be allowed back on the SDMB.

IIRC, he once accused **Guinastasia** of sleeping with a prof who drove her to class once or twice (from somewhere on-campus, if memory serves) and from whom she got a fairly high grade (because she did the work, showed up to class, etc).

One of these days, somebody should put together a collection of Wildest Bill’s greatest hits. Like the thread title (I think it was in GQ) that had more spelling and grammatical errors than actual words. Man, those were good times. 😃

May I add a recommendation here? Of course I may.
I hope this thread doesn’t turn into a dogpile on someone unable to defend themselves. As Bill is no longer allowed to post here, I’d find that to be rather unfair to him, or anyone who cannot respond. Let’s try and keep to the high road, okay?

Yep. I said I asked Dr. Jourin to drive me across campus when the weather was bad AND when it was nice, because of the idiots who don’t pay attention to the fact that there’s a CROSSWALK.
And, because they, like Bill, were speeders, they were assholes.
He said, “And just what to do you do in return for a ride?” Or something stupid like that.
Of course, he got his ass handed to him after that. And then he gave a weaselly appology. I just rolled my eyes.
I still wouldn’t mind seeing the guy around, because he WAS amusing at times. But only in small doses, and I don’t blame the mods for banning him.

Indeed, **reprise** , in view of the fact that he has on two different threads accused me of dishonestly misrepresenting his views, I suspect strongly that that is the case. Though I’ve learned from sad experience not to infer anything from what **TheRyan** says, because any conclusions one draws from his statements prove to be not what he meant.
**Formal Request to the Administrators** :
My e-mail account is as a secondary screen name of a friend, and is not always accessible to me, including this weekend. I therefore request that if you find any grounds for any complaint that **TheRyan** may be making against me in connection with the question he has posted here, that you notify me via this thread.
I wish to go on record as having done four things that have aroused his ire: (1) misunderstanding or failing to understand the points he was attempting to make and in consequence arguing against positions he was not in fact taking and, it may be, attributing those positions to him (I don’t recall actually doing this, but would not rule it out); (2) sarcastically misrepresenting his stance on an issue, in the Canadian youth thread over in Great Debates, in an aside to **Esprix** ; (3) expressing my frustration at being unable to understand what point his posts were in support of, repeatedly; and (4) at a former time, when it seemed to me that he was trolling, suggesting that his behavior resembled that of someone who was assholish. Upon finding that he was in fact arguing, IMHO incompetently, in support of a position contrary to the generally held view, I have, in another Pit thread, retracted that allegation.
I also feel that I have done nothing improper in the course of posting, save for the misinterpretation regarding his trolling. In combatting ignorance, it helps if one is clear and straightforward in what one is attempting to prove; I feel that much of what **TheRyan** has posted recently has in fact muddied the waters. I in no way object to his posting different points of view – when he does this clearly, I rejoice, and complimented him just yesterday on one particularly good piece of irony in a GD thread. I have objected only to what at first appeared trollery, then obfuscation, and only now am I coming to understand that it is merely his inability or unwillingness to make his case clear.
If this is grounds for banning or a warning, then I will submit with as good grace as in me to your judgment. I personally feel that the problem lies more in the opposite direction, but make no accusations along those lines other than stating my opinion.
