See post #59. I have no doubt the Abortion Liberation Fund will be perfectly willing to receive financial contributions from abortion-rights opponents who are confused about the organization’s aims, though. ---

The new name sounds confrontational to me. I would have expected them to go with “the abortion assistance fund”, or some such. ---

ALF? What does that mean? No one knows, they could state the mission in the name, Abortion Medical Fund. Inquire within, by referral only? The ambiguity is more a PR issue than explicitly a trans issue? ---

I have no idea what your gender is, but I do believe that DT is indeed a woman. Sadly for you my disgust isn’t for women (or men), but instead reserved for transphobes and their ilk. AFAICT, the organization’s mission also includes broader aims of reproductive justice and liberation in general, especially with regard to obstacles faced by POC. Which may be how the term “liberation” got into the new name. The newsletter also includes what looks like a kickass recipe for peach cobbler. I’m not so sure about the vegan-oatmeal-creme-pie one. ---

And given that a lot of the people denouncing transphobia in this thread are women, and that none of the people disagreeing with you are in any way suppressing your freedom to respond, I really don’t think you have much chance of spinning this as a case of misogynistic silencing. As a cisgender woman who supports trans rights, I get really tired of terfy types implying that they speak for “women” in general, or that disagreement with or disdain for their views is automatically misogynistic.
