# The World is closing in (eek! My little world shrinks. Again. I’m the epic shrinking woman stuck in it. (It’s getting sorta close and smelly in here!) I do dialysis on Thursday evenings now. Well, I go in and they’ve had some kind of party/event. Apparently I wasn’t invited. (no worries, I wasn’t coming extra early for that!) I was able to avail myself of the gaily decorated windows, spooky muzak and a small table just inside the door. On this table were ghoulish characters and cob webs. I’m looking and thinking maybe autumn leaves and a pumpkin or two would’ve been more tasteful. **And then I see it**. Om freakin’ God! A giant witches brew pot. Full of, egads _Candy!!_ Are these people insane? I know, I know, not everyone on dialysis is diabetic. But they all are sick and probably restricted. Can they be more insensitive? Not to mention every Dialysis ““Expert””(yet to be determined) has a mouth full of sucker or candy bar. Chomping away. Blowing bubbles with hubba-bubba. Smelling of a sickly sweet aroma. Get outta my face, lady. My glucose went up just because of your breath. I’m writing a strongly worded email. I tell you what. Just, who do I report this outrage to? I’m out of the Halloween loop. My grandkids don’t do it. No neighbors. No school things allow Halloween parties, anymore.They might hit a fall festival if Mom finds one with kid stuff. So my world closes in more. ETA: Ivy, the witch got a Tootsie pop. ---

Candy chomping in a dialysis clinic? Kinda gross! Maybe some of it was from Dr Johns candy company. Too early for candy corn and lafdytaffy ---

That’s pretty wow. Although if the clinic also handles blood or plasma donation, they’d have it on hand to keep the donor’s sugar from crashing. It’s cheaper then giving them glucose. ---

That’s surprisingly insensitive for a medical facility. The rush to decorate for the next made-up commercial holiday, I understand in my cynicism. (Though I definitely would have preferred to decorate for Fall rather than Candyween.) But the candy dish was a poor choice. ---

Another dialysis patient was trying to convince me maybe it was for the kids. No one brings their kids. The only kid(well teen) here is diabetic. He ain’t eating no candy. I believe it was done in a mis-guided effort to be cheerful or some other nonsense. This is probably the best diabetic clinic in my proximity. No one’s perfect.
