I guess it was to be utterly predictable and expected, but that pile of human excrement, Fred Phelps, is of course claiming that Tuesday’s attacks were God’s punishment on America for condoning homosexuality.
I won’t even do the man the favor of linking to his piece of shit site. I can’t even muster up the words to properly condemn this man in a fitting manner. I’m just sickened.
Why couldn’t those planes have flown into him?

Well, one way to refute the good Reverend Phelps is to note that the planes hit the WTC, and not Greenwich Village or Fire Island. If God wishes to smite us homos, He needs to get some target practice.

You know, “hate” is a strong word, and I don’t use it lightly, but I hate this evil fucker. It takes a HUGE effort to drive me to violence, but I swear if I ever see this guy in person I’ll beat the living poo out of him. Jesus Christ, he just never stops. He’s like the Energizer Bunny of fundamentalist homophobes. But it should surprise no one. He led protests outside the funerals of gay men who were killed because of their sexuality. I hope he rots in hell.

Y’know, according to one of the other threads in the Pit, there’s speculation that one of the three men who rushed the terrorists on the flight which was downed outside Pittsburgh was gay. In other words, if it weren’t for a homosexual, the White House could have been hit as well.
I hope that when Phelps dies, he is found choked to death on his lover’s cock.

I’m not sure why this upsets me SO MUCH. I am reminded of the thread about wishing death on someone. If there is anyone who fits the bill for me, Phelps is right up there at the top or the list. I have been trying over the past few days to return to my spirtual centers, but this just creates such a black ball of hatred in me that I feel a need to do a purification.
I am really not sure why I have this response. I mean I should certainly have no more anger at him that I do at the extremists who murdered thousand of people. That just doen’t make ANY sense. Maybe it is just a more familiar face to direct anger at, one that is using a sytem of belief akin to the one I grew up in to justify it’s hatred.
Is there ever an end to hatred?

– Attack retribution by God for homosexuality/ abortion/ ‘insert pet fundie cause here’? Check!
– Attack planned and implemented by America/ Republicans /Bush administration to allow it/them/him to gain stature on the world stage? Check!
– Attack product of vast one-world /United Nations /Illuminati conspiracy? Check!
– Attack carried out by aliens a la _Independence Day_? Che- Well, I haven’t actually seen that one yet, but the week is young.

That [Mark Bingham](http://www.planetout.com/news/article.html?2001/09/12/1) was gay is not speculation. The extent of his involvement may never be known, although the flight data recorder has been found (but not yet the cockpit voice recorder).
