The Worst For Prince Andrew.

How would that be relevant if the offense took place in London (as mentioned above)?

My mistake. I thought it was Epstein Island thing.

Sure there are precedents but it’s not likely. No evidence except memories from 18 years ago do not add up to enough to charge.

I think she says she was forced [by Epstein to have sex with York. Her “he knows what he’s done” comments about York are (deliberately?) ambiguous about what exactly he has done, as opposed to Epstein. Did he too join in forcing her to have sex? Was he complicit in Epsteins compulsion of her? She hasn’t said. (She may not know.)

I thought it was called the “rump parliament” after it sat on its collective rump for a decade following the coup, declining to have any election that might result in being replaced by differently-motivated members. IIRC Cromwell came along and booted them out, effectively having a coup on the coup and making a restoration that much easier.

CNN among others played the video of him letting some girl out of Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse front door. OTOH, we must remember that prior to the charges brought recently, Epstein had simply been convicted of two counts of soliciting prostitution from a minor. It’s not like there was massive international publicity that he was running a sex trafficking ring until this year.

Indeed, allegations against Trump of his involvement at Epstein parties were floated by conspiracy theorists during the 2016 election and ignored. I imagine that people still visit Roger Kraft for dinner parties and social get-togethers… even after his news scandal. So complaining that Andrew hung out with Epstein in past years probably seemed much less of a PR disaster then as does now, and may or may not have the significance it appears to have now. Absent further testimony, we have no idea whether the prince simply liked to party or was deeper into illegality. Remember Epstein seems to have made a habit of close encounters with the A list.

(I remember reading an article where some reporter interviewed the girls that hung out on Dodi Fayed’s yacht. When Diana was due, he had his minions give the girls the heave-ho. Nobody seems to have made a big deal at the time that the rich and famous singles had plenty of “party girls” hanging about, and I assume that describes Andrew’s lifestyle too. Not sure about his finances, but his brother Charles and his mum are supposedly among the richest people in the UK, so I assume he can afford that life.)

Prince Andrew has announced his withdrawal from royal duties “for the foreseeable future.”

“I expected a train wreck,’’ said Charlie Proctor, editor of the Royal Central website, which covers the British monarchy. “That was a plane crashing into an oil tanker, causing a tsunami, triggering a nuclear explosion-level bad.”

His mum grounded him.

She’s going to install him as the inaugural Governor of the South Sandwich Islands, more like.

Americans brag about casting off the British monarchy, yet the US President faces less jeopardy for his involvement with Epstein than a British man whose job title is literally ‘Prince’.

Let’s refrain from political commentary in GQ. No warning issued, but keep to the subject of royalty.

[Moderating]

That was out of bounds for GQ, HMS Irruncible. Please stay on the factual topic.

EDIT: Dang ninja hummingbird moderators!

Diplomatic immunity is not granted to you by your country. It is a courtesy extended by the country you are visiting.

What are UK attitudes toward ditching the monarchy and going republican? Are royals wearing out their welcome?

Moderator Note

This is also not a question for GQ. If you want to discuss this, start a new thread in IMHO.

Should also note that in the interview he said he does not remember her. But then, this is a guy whose nickname is “randy Andy” and like most royals, a magnet for crowds and social gatherings. I don’t doubt women threw themselves at him, and traffickers helped add to the tally. What are the odds he remembers any particular woman he boinked once or three times 18 years ago and hasn’t seen since? AFAIK she alleges it happened at one party, not that he had a regular ongoing relationship.

And as pointed out, in London a 17-year-old was above the age of consent.

Plus, Epstein did an excellent job (of blackmail, I presume) to get the Florida charges dropped to “soliciting prostitution”, something minor and not really reprehensible and probably appeared mundane compared to the awful truth.

Roger Kraft, for example, was alleged to have solicited prostitution in massage parlours. The only comments I saw about that were - you’d think a multi-multi-millionaire could make better arrangements than that? You’d think when someone has that much money, they could arrange for house calls or the Hilton (Miami Hilton, not Paris…)

Heres the thing someone asked" say he did boink her would of he even known she was a “pro”?

because from my understanding these girls would act like any other girl at a bar or party … walk to whoever they were told to start chatting … have a few drinks and suggest they slip off for more fun .i mean if it was me id of said "I’m a bloody prince of great Britain … I dont need paid for hookups even if someone else did the paying … "

It wouldn’t matter whether he knew or not. Having sex with a prostitute is not generally a crime so, if she were being paid to have sex with him, whether he knew that or not is unlikely to have any bearing on whether he incurs criminal liablity by having sex with her.

As already pointed out, for an adult to have sex with a 17-year old is not a crime in Engliand, but it is in Florida, so if any of the acts is alleged to have occurred in Florida, there’s a problem right there regardless of whether she was paid or whether he knew about it. And, either in England or in Florida, there might be liablity under relevant trafficking legislation which, again, wouldn’t necessarily be disposed of by saying that he didn’t know she was paid.

For the benefit of US residents who may have not seen his infamous interview on BBC on saturday. Here is a summary

On the question of whether he had sex with the 17 year old accuser. He said…I cannot remember if i ever met her.

On the question of the photograph of him with his arms around her waist. He said…I cannot remember being in that upstairs landing area of that house.

On the question of whether he went to the night club in London with the accuser. he said…I remember clearly that on the night in question I was taking my daughter to a party in Pizza Extress in Woking

On the question that the accuser said he was sweating in the night club he said…I have a medical condition after the Falklands war that prevents me from sweating. The papers have since published numerous photos of him sweating.

On the question of why he visited and stayed with Jeffery Epstein after his release from prison…he said I thought it was an honourable thing to visit a friend and tell him that we cannot be friends any more.

So why stay in his apartment for 4 days…ahhh because it was convenient

As you can imagine the Prince was ridiculed for this interview
