I just sat thru Freddy Got Fingered a bit ago. Normally when critics are so harsh on a movie I think it is just they have no sense of humor or something. I was hoping to find at least a few funny scenes in this movie. I thought it was odd how all critics agreed that this was the worst movie they had ever seen, but decided to check it out anyway. Worst. Movie. Ever. Fuck. What the hell were they thinking when they green lighted this thing? What the hell was it about? TG is funny sometimes, but he wasn’t funny at all, EVER in this movie. OMG. I just can’t say enough bad things about this thing. How much did they spend to make this shit? So Bad. Please, do not spend any money to rent this thing. Take the 3 bucks and give it to a crack fiend or someone because it will be put to better use by them than renting this POS. Christ. ---

**Stinkpalm** ’s got it right. There are few movies that equal Freddy Got Fingered in all it’s glorious badness. A few reviews at IMDb call it comedy genius but I just didn’t see it. It’s sort of like watching a train full of burning nuns crash into a nuclear reactor; it’s too horrible not to watch. If you see this movie for any reason, see it to be able to say “I’ve seen the worst movie ever”. It’ll give you a bottom line to measure other movies by. Ed Wood would be proud not to call this movie one of his. BTW, the most recent movie I’ve seen that falls into the “bad, but not as bad as FGF” is _Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever_. What _were_ they thinking? ---

They were thinking of top-billed actors and blooming fireballs. From what I hear about _Freddy_ I think it certainly could’ve used some fireballs. ---

Sometimes every critic in the world is right. Neither FGF nor Ballistic did well with critics. FGF got 10% on Rotten Tomatoes. Ballistic is still hanging steady at 0%. That means, out of 134 critics reporting in, NONE had anything even remotely good to say about it. (Keep in mind that on Rotten Tomatoes, saying, “Better than a sharpened #2 pencil in the eye” is considered a positive rating.) I know some people don’t believe in paying any attention to critics, but I’ve yet to see a “Worst Movie Evar” thread in which most of the movies discussed weren’t utterly reamed in the press. ---

Haven’t seen Freddy yet. Tom Green never appealed to me much. It’s hard to say what the worst movie I’ve ever seen was; there have been some pretty bad ones after all. Reaching back a bit, Bo Derek’s Tarzan of the Apes ranks right up there in the top ten crap list. Also, “Jaws 3, 3D.” And that other shark movie from a couple of years ago. The one where the sharks were genetically engineered to be smarter, and they ate most of the cast. Can’t remember the name, but it sucked big time. A good rule of thumb: any movie where you end up rooting for the sharks has failed. ---

I’ve seen **Freddy Got Fingered**. I considered it the worst movie of all time. That is, until I rented and watched **The Other Sister**. The basic plot (forgive me if this forces you to have to think about it) is that Juliette Lewis and Giovanni Ribisi are “movie retarded” and spend the movie walking and talking as if they based their characters on memories of how people made fun of the mentally handicapped when they were children. This movie is bad, totally unrealistic, and 100% **offensive and insulting** to anyone who has ever had any relationship with the mentally handicapped. Never have I seen a movie, then read a more spot-on [Ebert review](http://www.suntimes.com/ebert/ebert_reviews/1999/02/022606.html) afterwards. I watch other bad movies, like **Battlefield Earth** , and just shake my head at the badness, plot holes, etc. I don’t usually watch a movie and get really offended and angry at the filmmakers. And who directed this atrocity? Garry Marshall, whose movies I will never see again. ---

Boy, do I feel old. Apparently, the young whippersnappers of the SDMB have never seen “Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video,” from Michael O’Donoghue. I saw it, what, 23 years ago, and I still recall the words of the box office cashier when I paid my money. She said something I’d never heard at a box office, before or since" “No refunds.” I warn you all now: if you EVER hear those words at a box office, EVER… wave good-bye to your money and go home. You’ll be glad you did. DON’T shrug and say, “Oh well, I paid my money, so I might as well see the movie.” “I know, for I have done this… and I am Caesar. I mean, Astorian.” ---

Hmm, I actaully like _The Gods Must Be Crazy_. Nearly every movie I see has at least one thing about it I like. Take _Battlefield Earth_ for instance. I liked the way John Travolta’s character mistakenly assumed that humans preferred rat to eat and tried to entice Barry Pepper and company with them. Funny stuff, and an understandable mistake from an alien’s POV. _Deep Blue Sea_ had an interesting scene at the end where the “heroine” makes the usual self sacrifice to distract the shark and gets eaten for her trouble. Most movies would wishy-wash out at this point and have her survive. Same goes for Matthew McConaughey and his futile leap at the head dragon in _Reign of Fire_. Even _Bolero_ had something. At least you got to see Bo nekkid (again). In my considerable movie going experience there’s not many movies that have NO redeeming qualities, however small. Some of these would include movies like _Jake Speed_ (a horrible _Raiders_ rip-off), _Sheena_ (words fail me), and _Cannibal Holocaust_ (the less said the better). I just watched _Eraserhead_ this morning. I’m still thinking. 😃 _Freddy_ still stands at the bottom of the list in my theater. ---
