Guys, enough already. Quit beating up on **ZPGZealot** over this. It’s been going on for fuckin’ years—how are you not tired of going over it for the thousandth time? It isn’t fair to her as an active member of the Doper community to single her out for mockery every damn time she tries to talk about any subject at all. Give her some fuckin’ space to breathe, will you? This isn’t just a dead horse you’re beating, it’s _Eohippus_. Let the poor equine rest in peace already. ---

She brought it up yet again, in the thread linked to in the OP. She labels women who do not agree with her as traitors to their sex and whores, and men as rapists. I think that’s a big deal. ---

It is on par with referring to dark skinned person as a nigger or a gay couple as hell-bound faggots, etc. ---

I do fully understand that her views are bizarrely irrational and inappropriate for civil society. My feelings about this are aggravated by her appropriating the language of women fighting serious battles for bodily autonomy against pervasive, endemic rape culture—for the purpose of something ridiculous, which works toward trivializing the real work to end rape culture. \<–See, now you’ve got me doing it. Anyway, the wrongness of her views is not even in question here. I just instinctively feel uncomfortable to see a crowd dogpiling a single individual at such length; it’s been going on like this for several years. Can’t help feeling uncomfortable at mass pile-ons on lone individuals, even if they habitually say foolish shit, quite apart from the clear merits of the arguments refuting their foolish shit. It skates too close to the “letter of attainder” (the group using its collective power to have a go at a single specified person), which is unconstitutional and therefor un-American. Well, I just had to articulate that. Keep calm and carry on. I’m out, bye. ---

Bravo and Amen. Intimidation and force are abominable and I support you all the way. And when I extend my hand out to women in the widely recognized gesture that means “would you like to shake hands?”, I will think of you and smile, since you have taught me so much. And women around the country will recognize this gesture for what it is (because they’ve explicitly told me so) – as a respectful interrogative as to whether they would like to shake hands, and they are always free to decline with no consequences whatsoever. ---
