Theia has been found (maybe)

Just another example. You never get what you need. Posting images here is also sometimes a problem and I can never remember which to use (Imgur?). Let me try this: , (you should see a bold italic comma, would not shock me if you don’t).

And Taylor “St_Cad” Swift has gone missing. I had a simple request, you would think she could reply with all her billions.

You can use any hosting site at all. If you want the images to appear inline you just need a site that will let you hotlink directly to the image url, not to a page containing the image. Lots of people use lots of different hosting sites.

As to this:

I totally see a bold italic comma created with 3 asterisks ahead and behind: “***,***” gives “,”.

Ref @Northern_Piper I also see a space after your colon and before your bold italic comma. Which space should not be there in a typical comma separated list of this, that, and the other thing.

However, there is a way to defeat that need for a space ahead of the asterisks: use and around the bolded text instead of using ** . and around italicized text works similarly instead of *.

So this

Theia, which collided with the Earth to form the Moon, in

results in

Theia, which collided with the Earth to form the Moon, in

With no unwanted space between “Theia” and the comma.

Even better than trying to bold the suggested edits is to use the insert and delete text tags which are designed for that purpose. Note that exactly how the text appears depends on the user’s theme. But in every case the inserted and deleted text is clearly called out as different from the existing text. On my theme the inserted test is green highlighted and underlined, while the deleted text is pink highlighted and struck through.

… small planet Theia<ins>, which</ins><del>that</del> collided with the Earth to form the Moon<ins>,</ins> in our mantle.

results in

… small planet Theia, whichthat collided with the Earth to form the Moon, in our mantle.

I’ll have you know that I dust my mantle every week, and I would have noticed if there were a moon in it.

That’s even worse than “Waiter! Waiter! There’s a blue whale in my soup.”

“Oh no, not again.”
