Here in New England, we are locked in the gloom of midwinter…yet life is stirring! I went for a walk in the snow-filled woods today (with the dogs) , and was pleased to see the snow covered with pieces of bud sheaths. Ths means that deep within the buds, the sap is expanding and breaking the bud sheaths…there is a distinct tint of red to the trees, so the buds are definately expanding!
Even though spring is more than 2 months away, the forest is awakening!
Just a random thought, but at least I can start to see Spring coming on!
