My mother was a school teacher. She told me that those who cannot teach are administrators (for the school district).

I learned it as Dog face, Cat face or Bird face. I knew one guy who looked like a turtle. Otherwise this trichotomy works pretty well.

My Irish grampa taught me there were two kinds of people:

People who are Irish, and people who wish they were Irish!

From the other half of my family, I learned there were two kinds of people:

White people who build a great big fire and stand way back,  
And native people who build a small fire and sit very close.
