# There is a strange woman attached to my Microsoft account. So I singed up for Skpe yesterday. When I did, it asked me to merge my Microsoft account with my Skype. I got a little confused when Skye kept insisting on calling me Evelyn. After some poking around, I see this woman, complete with profile picture, (pretty girl BTW) was attached to my MS account. What the heck is going on here? And why would some stranger want to latch on to my MS account? It seems so bizarre to me. ---

What does ā€œattachedā€ mean in this case, exactly? She shows up under ā€œFamilyā€ in your M$ account? Iā€™ve never looked at the account site until today, but if thatā€™s what it is, it looks like it requires a request from one person and a confirmation from the other, so that is odd. ---

All I know is I couldnā€™t get a Skype account with out merging my MS account. I checked my MS account (Thanks **BurnMeUp** ), nothing seems screwy there, so it must be something Skpe is doing. ---

If you have an MS account with, say, the Microsoft store or the old XBox live accounts, theyā€™ll ask you to merge those with your Skype account for streamlining purposes. If youā€™re the admin of the account, you should contact billing and tell them that your account was merged improperly with someone elseā€™s. Itā€™s a hassle and a headache, but you donā€™t want some stranger running up charges on your account. ---

True multiple personality cases are extremely rare, but they do exist. So you and Evelyn have to reach an agreement as to when each of you is permitted to come out. Can I speak to Evelyn now? Evelyn, are you there? Perhaps you need to get your own SDMB account. ---
