After 8 years of a candidate with a really hyper-annoying voice. Don’t you want to support the candidate of change? A vote for Hillary or McCain means 4 more years of oily smarm. Where do I sign up for my membership card? This has nothing to do with politics, Republicans, but didn’t you shiver just a little every time you envisioned George W. Bush sitting at the negotiating table with world leaders? The slurred words, the accent, that nervous “heh heh” laugh-no matter how intelligent he really is, he just comes across like the reincarnation of Billy Carter. ---

I think On the Media (a great NPR show that’s on at funky times on the weekend) did a piece comparing his debates against Ann Richards and those against Gore and Kerry. I agree. In fact, on voice alone, only Obama and Huckabee (and maybe Thompson and Edwards) were at all tolerable out of all the candidates. In further fact, they’re all really only three voices. Chriss Dodd stepped up one octave equals Mitt Romney stepped up one octave plus “my friends” equals John McCain. Dennis Kucinich minus one octave equals Hillary Clinton minus one octave (on a good day) equals Ron Paul. Giuliani speaks like W without the “folksy” “southern” “charm”. Add it back in and you get Edwards, and drop it an octave and you get Thompson.
