I left work to go get some food just now. On the way out, I saw some smoke, thought, “Huh, that looks like it’s near my place,” and promptly forgot it. On the way back, taking a different route, I passed the street leading to my house, saw a police car blocking it off, and saw, over the roofs, a fire truck ladder spraying water downward. That got me a little more nervous, so I went down the next street, (where I could see that my house was fine) parked, and walked down to the cop. Turns out it’s a towing company about a block and a half from where I live that’s going up in smoke. The cop said it was just about under control, so everything should be OK, but still, it was pretty nerve-wracking. Funny thing is, I (being a student) live in a student housing-intense area, and this towing company just happens to be the one contracted to enforce parking regs at many nearby student complexes. Hmmm… ---

Disgruntled tow-victim huh? 🙂 There was a brush fire less than a mile from my house about three weeks ago. I was home at the time, and I could smell the smoke. The sky was an ominous gray color, and it was dead silent outside. Very unnerving! ---

But now I’m all wet. And my pants are being charred away… 😉 Actually, I once accidentally set a pair of my pants on fire (not wearing them at the time). They burned green. Now I know copper and halogens burn green, but I’m not sure I had either in them. Weeiiirddd… It figures I would set my pants on fire :rolleyes: ---

They got wet fording a stream. I decided to dry them out over the fire (out camping, this was). They were high above the fire–high enough to be safe…or so I thought. I walk away for a minute pantsless ( **hoping Audrey fails to resist** ), come back, and there are my pants…green flames and all. Good thing I had some others 🙂 ---
