Unlike some of my Democratic bretheren, I am not one who think that the country is going to hell because the Republicans control it. Dammit, Nevada question 2 passed, and question 9 failed. So that means we join the list of states with unneccesary gay marriage bans that open the door for further legal discrimination… AND we don’t get the be the groundbreaking state to finally make small amounts of marijuana legal to posess and use. How backwards can you get? ---

My last name starts with an S, but he had to go through every page of the Ts first to make sure it wasn’t hiding there. I don’t have anything specifically against the poor, but I do admit that the traits that in my humble opinion (IMHO) are detrimental to a society are more prevalent among this group. And no, I don’t know how solve the problem. Assuming that the poor aren’t genetically predisposed to being poor, and that there wasn’t some catastrophic event that precipitated this condition then at some point people just have to start taking personal responsibility for their own actions. And the government shouldn’t institute programs that delay this necessity. Certainly having six children out of wedlock doesn’t help to alleviate the situation, and I sure don’t think it’s helpful to subsidize this type of irresponsible behavior. All this does is ensure that the problem continues generation after generation. People shouldn’t be allowed to starve, but there also shouldn’t be any incentive to persist in this destructive behavior. ---

I guess what it boils down to is that the majority of people in America suck, whether they voted for the right-wing asshole of their choice, failed to vote for the non-right-wing-asshole of their choice, or failed to articulate in a resonating fashion what exactly is wrong with the Republican agenda. Like the Dilbert guy says…this country is made up of a bunch of weasels. Weak, unprincipled, selfish, callous, myopic, gluttonous, bellicose, jingoistic bastards. It makes me want to strap dynamite to my chest and go to the mall… Whew, that’s a load off my chest…😉 The good thing is that government, being its usual ineffective self, really won’t change quite as much as feared…and we can now go back to our usual regimen of lowest-common-denominator entertainment and conspicuous consumption. ---

My community, for the second time, voted against raising the tax $.15 per every $100 their property is worth to build a new middle school and add a new technology wing to the high school. Let me add that our elementary school was built two years ago, and already has two temp. classrooms outside, which Kentucky law dictates can only be used for a few years.
