They are right that we have an idiot as President. ISIS just wants to suck him in. It will be Vietnam 10x over. These guys cannot be rooted out in their own territory. A lot of innocent people will die.
At least Johnson realized the folly although it was too late. Nixon then took the bait.
Trump is getting checkmated at every turn. Putin thinks he’s watching SNL every day of the week.

How do isis and the Taliban both so easily figure out what an imbecile Trump is when 63 million Americans couldn’t figure it out? That says bad things about our country and its trajectory.
Hopefully Trump doesn’t get sucked into some endless land war, that is what isis wants . Trump will obviously get suckered with a few insults, but I hope his administration and Congress put the brakes on him.

Obama drew a line and al-Assad crossed it. Obama failed to respond. The Obama haters roasted him for it.
al-Assed crossed the line again. Trump sort of forgot about al-Assad and is making nice with him. The Obama haters are quite silent.

He had a weird way of showing that realization. He never de-escalated. Say what you will about Nixon, he did, in fact, get us out. LBJ just quit, leaving the entire mess for someone else to clean up.

Johnson stopped the bombing of North Vietnam and started peace negotiations which didn’t go far. That’s not de-escalation? Read some history books.
Nixon escalated. He didn’t get us out. He got thousands more US soldiers killed. He invaded Cambodia and bombed the shit out of Laos.
In desperation we lost and evacuated. LOST. There is no other term to describe the fiasco.
