# These things annoy me about the SDMB. . .

but they all don’t deserve their own thread. Little annoyances that are all my own little problems. I do not expect anyone else to agree with me, I don’t expect anyone to change anything in any way. I just wanted to get them off my chest and perhaps get you to share some of your own SDMB annoyances.
[ol][_]Smilies. I hate those little fuckers. Say what you’re gonna say and let the words stand without .gif explanations.[_]Harry Potter treads. I’m only on page 350! Stop talking about it without me! God it’s so hard keeping myself from opening those threads. [_]“Your post was too long/boring/complicated for me to read thoroughly but I’m going to comment on it any way.” Look, nobody has to read every post on this board and it is not mandatory to reply to every post you read. But not reading the post, bragging about not reading the post and then making comments on the post you just said you didn’t read is the height of annoying.[_]Your cats are not cuter or smarter or more annoying than my cats. They’re just not. My cats are better. So there.[/ol]

Hey, I never said said you_couldn’t_ do non-smilie sarcasm.
Seriously, I do agree that overuse of them is highly annoying, but one or two here and there just to make the point isn’t so bad, is it? Surely there are more irritating things on the board, like rampant asshattedness, glaring ignorance and ummmmmm…me, right?

People who post on a thread just to tell you that they don’t care about your complaints. Boy, that really cheeses me off. Why can’t they actually add something to the discussion, instead of a stupid, drive-by post?

Actually, this post was made to illustrate what annoys me the most. That’s when someone quotes an entire fuckin post, just adding a few words or an odd line under. The quoting feature is great, but fer chrissake edit the post you’re quoting. I’ve read the whole damn thing once and don’t need to wade through it all again. With the strain on the hamsters, you’d be doing everybody a favor if you do some active \.

MY furry, frolicking [felines](http://www.tschirhart.net/images/kittens.jpg) are better than any of yours, because they rarely bring themselves into threads, clamoring for attention. Plus, they run over **auntie em** ’s head and butt when she’s sleeping, which is always good for a chuckle is you ask me.
