Wow, who’d have thunk that blisters were such a big problem on the debate team!
Yeah no kidding! I kind of remember doing a lot of hardcore sitting around/falling asleep at my debate and forensics tournaments.
It seems to be a law somewhere that, if you are entered in two events at a Speech tournament, the rooms are located as far apart from each other as physically possible. At a school like Long Beach State, this can be a good 3/4 mile. Running from one room to the other in dress shoes for three days can be painful. It seems to be more of a problem with the girls. They always buy shoes that “look good” rather than “work good.” 
Advice on blisters from “the walking site”.
The new kind of “Paint-on Band-aids” are cool. Painting the skin to protect it from rain, seat, dirt and touch, in the same way a wooden panel is painted.
