I’m not really certain why Dr. Richard Kimball, who presumably had no prior history of atavistic violence, would be assumed to be a hard target, but it makes for a nice turn of speech. In fact, I’m not clear why Dr. Kimball would have ever been convicted of a capital crime, insofar as there was a mountain of reasonable doubt any competent criminal defense attorney could have used to at least knock the sentence down to voluntary manslaughter.

Apart from the fact that Hollywood sucks dead donkey ass at portraying criminal law, of course.

Except that’s not what happened to Paris Hilton. She served her full jail sentence on a charge that the average person would have been released early from.

Isn’t all dentistry on people over 80 basically specialty dentistry? It’s a new field, in many ways–15 years ago, octogenarians didn’t have teeth–and I would assume things like medications/medical precautions are different for the elderly, and perhaps not something the prison dentist knows much about.

I expect a general dentist would be able to provide standard dental care to all ages.
