Woo hoo! I LOVE this movie! I saw it by myself in the small town theater where I worked as a teenager. I told all of my friends to go see it, and they all hated it without exception.

Ino, I’ll bet you’re exactly right about Roddy Piper. That’s what I always thought as well. “I’ll be in your movie, but I gotta wrestle!”
I read somewhere that the street brawl was actually Roddy Piper and the other actors idea. They went to Carpenter and said “Hey instead of having some fake fight lets have a legit fight with no stuntmen” and Carpenter said “Sure” and so they proceeded to beat the crap out of each other.
See, for me, the fight scene is probably one of the best parts of the movie. I like the fact it wasn’t fake looking and went on forever, because that’s the way most fist fights between two people with little to no fight training go. They’re long, sloppy, and down and out MEAN!! That was the most realistic fight scene I’ve seen in a movie, and the fact it kept going just made it better.
