If you’ll look at what you quoted **Bear** you’ll notice I said MORE evidence, not REAL evidence.

I agree with you on your other points though.

…apologies, completely my error, I don’t usually do things like that. I was up late last night, typed the wrong thing…

I, for one, am not buying the ‘solo fishing trip on Christmas Eve’ alibi. I can see people going fishing by themselves. I can even see people going on a trip on Christmas Eve (in a group). But fishing alone on Christmas Eve??? Who does this?

I think he killed her and dumped her early in the morning, _then_ went to the lake.

"Sure, he killed his 8-month pregnant wife and his unborn son Connor on Christmas eve and tossed them in the cold Pacific.

Sure, he took out a huge insurance policy on her life right beforehand.

Sure, he was having an adulterous affair with a woman he lied to about being married.

Sure, he cried all those crocodile tears about searching for her and then sold the SUV and bought a new one.

But consider his troubled childhood…"

…so, I take it, he’s been convicted? I mean seriously, he’s been the prime suspect from day one. Why don’t you wait until the case get’s seen by a jury before jumping up and down yelling “neener, neener, I was right?”

Sure, my father-in-law died last year after a long illness and the funeral gathering afterward could’ve been confused with a great party; HOWEVER, he was not murdered in the prime of his life with his infant child. I cannot imagine being able to muster up any kind of emotion that would resemble anything other than agony if I were in “Laci’s husand’s” shoes. But, I understand, that is just me. I have never been in his shoes.

Indeed. I know this is post facto, but I’ll say it anyway: a candlelight vigil is not a funeral. At a funeral, you **know** the person is dead, and that it’s over. You’re relieved of the pressure you were under before the death, or the shock has faded, if the person died unexpectedly, and it’s now possible for little things to strike you funny so that you can jump-start the grieving process.

But when that vigil was being held, Laci’s family was in limbo, not knowing if she was alive or not. SP should have been equally clueless, and therefore high-strung and anxious. Mr. Rilch and I have discussed this, and he says that if he had been in the same situation, he probably wouldn’t even have **attended** a candlelight vigil. He would have authorized one, of course, on the grounds that anything that might possibly help should be done, but he would be preoccupied with his own search efforts, and wouldn’t be standing around with a beer when he could be out doing something constructive. He might let himself be dragged to the vigil if someone convinced him that his absence wouldn’t look good, but once there, only his mom or one of his closest friends would be able to coax a thin smile from him.

So the fact that SP was able to smile and enjoy a beer (as opposed to nipping JD, which Mr. Rilch says he might turn to, under similar circumstances) looked like, and presumably was, an indicator that he had no tension because he already knew she was dead.

And why didn’t he express any concern for the baby? Or did he? I didn’t follow the story religiously, and it’s possible that he did say something along the lines of “I may never see my son”, but if he did, I didn’t hear anything about it.
