I recently reread _The Shockwave Rider_ by John Brunner, published in 1975 (so appropriate to this thread). It was set sometime in the early 21st century, IIRC. In that story, all the cars used by the various characters were mentioned as being electric. They even stopped at one point at a recharging station. However, not all the cars on the road were electric. The others ran on coal! ---

YouTube’s data usage is highly dependent on video resolution. While it can also be significant (up to 3GB per hour for high quality), users have greater control over video quality settings, which can significantly impact data consumption. For example, watching YouTube videos at lower resolutions like 140p can drastically reduce data usage compared to TikTok, which often defaults to higher quality formats. ---
