Sports I know a lot of people have said it, but really. Sports. I don’t watch sports. Not even the World Series. Nlot even the Super Bowl (not even the halftime show). Not even the Olympics (although I broke down this year and watched the opening ceremonies, 'cause they were from SLC). I don’t read the Sports pages. I didn’t even know the Boston Globe ran a comic there (Tank McNamara) until my wife pointed it out to me. I bicycle. I ski. I swim. I play racquetball. But I don’t follow any professional or amateur players in any of these. If I’m not doing it, I’m not interested. ---

_The West Wing_ _Survivor_ organic gardening egg substitutes, whether a chicken is free range or not, soy anything. Your “I loved and lost how could he do this to me” tortorously self-involved 3 hour sobfest. There is a 30 minute time limit on self-pity. Anal neatness. Been there, had that phase, adds nothing to my life. Designer just about anything. Those state quarters. Hemp, patchouli, dreads, Earth Festivals, etc. (although I remember having no aversion to pot in college! 😉 ) video games and comic books. name brand/expensive makeup, shampoo, etc. Cheesy modern dance/dance with the chi/spiritual NIA hooey. ---

I’m going to second, third, whatever: **working out**. I’m sick to death of people talking about their classes, how many situps they did, how skinny they’re getting. Enough already. You work out. You joined a gym (I can’t afford to, but I try to do my yoga at home, and you don’t hear me blabbing on about it every day). You’ve got a regular gym schedule. Fantastic! Great! Good on you! Why is it necessary to share this information with me? If I sound bored when you tell me, it’s because I am. Actually, I kind of like hearing about someone accidentally farting when they tried to do a certain yoga pose, but that’s such an isolated anecdote it’s not even worth tossing around as something redemptive. ---

Oh boy, sign me up for the “couldn’t give a flying f\*ck at a rolling donut about the World Cup” list. Hubby is all about the World Cup, even getting up at 5 a.m. to watch games and stuff. Then he wants me to get excited when he says, “Can you believe it? Elbonia beat Transylvania one-nil!” I do the wifely duty and smile and nod and make exited “Oooh” noises, but really…Do. Not. Give. Sports! I could really care less. Truly. Cars. Listening to people talk about their cars is not something I enjoy in any sense of the word. Personal Hygine. I tend to want to know everything. This isn’t something I want to know. Bodily Functions of any kind/sex lives: See above. The decreased morality of today’s society. Celebrities. WHY SHOULD THEY BE ANY OF MY BUISNESS? WHY SHOULD I CARE? Video games: If I do not own and play the game, it is unlikely that I care what exactly you are doing in it. This goes double for anything resembling Everquest. Mainstream Entertaiment: I could probably survive with no TV whatsoever. Same goes to more or less most musical groups. What you think of my personal choices: I could care less if you think I spend too much time doing X. Really. Great thread! ---
