Is it still possible to look for a job in the newspaper want ads? Or personal ads?
And when was the last time you had to adjust the horizontal/vertical hold on your TV?
And how about having milk delivered to your house?

My mother used to darn our socks.
But did you use the ATM or cash a check made out to “CASH”?
Compressing and then BinHexxing (or UUEncoding) your file attachments before attaching them to your email. So that email servers that were limited to 7 bit ASCII would not turn your file attachments into digital confetti. And because your email program did not do it for you automatically or anything.
What’s so funny?
Yes; I have a car full of old 80s and 90s tapes. And I still pick them up at opshops when I can.
I haven’t cleaned and regapped a sparkplug in years.
I was a travel agent for years, but that was before the internet. I really don’t know how they stay in business now. It’s probably a lot of corporate travel.
A couple of years ago all of the phone booths were removed from my town. The upkeep just isn’t worth it to the phone company anymore.
kopek, no shame, you are down to earth.
Until recently many motorcycles were still carburated and still had chokes on them. I think many still do, although they’re becoming fuel injected.
On my first airplane flight, my mom dressed me in my best dress and shoes. She wore a skirt, blouse, jacket and GLOVES. We were served dinner on real plates with real silverware and cloth napkins. I thought it was magical.
I still consider flying to be magical, but I dress in comfy clothes and bring my own food.
Looking up old articles on microfilm and microfiche. Using a non-digital card catalog.
And adjusting the antenna for best reception?
First time I flew on an airplane, we walked across the tarmac and up the stairs – though, I guess that still happens, I seem to remember doing that fairly recently at the Outagamie County regional airport not all that long ago.
I was listening to a song on youtube about someone hoping the DJ would play her favorite song. A bunch of kids commented on the video saying “Dumb. Why didn’t she just buy the mp3/stream it?” It hit me that sitting and waiting for your favorite song to come on the radio* hasn’t been common in well over a decade.
*Possibly so you could record it on cassette so you didn’t have to buy the whole album.
After a long trip, letting your family or friends know you made it home safely by calling them and letting the phone ring once.
This one is ethnically-centric, but I don’t see anyone greasing their scalps anymore.
A few grocery store ones:
Getting your produce weighed by someone working in the produce department.
Buying 16 oz. glass bottles of soda, and returning the empty bottles and receiving 10 cents for each.
One gallon milk containers used to be sold in cartons.
The people running the registers had the price of every item in the store memorized.
It used to be routine for the bagger to take your groceries to your car and put them in your trunk.
I took my first international trip as a high school graduate in 1999. I learned an enormous number of travel skills that I never had to use again.
First, I went to the student travel agency to book my youth-only Eurail pass and get my Hosteling International membership. Then I went to the bank to get a lot of traveler’s checks. Finally, I got a specialty calling card for calling home from pay phones. The trip was amazing, except I was terrified the whole time of losing my return plane ticket, which I had to drag around with me for a month.
A few years later, I just booked everything online, used my ATM card, and emailed home to keep in touch.
For that matter, meeting/parting with loved ones at the gate isn’t a thing that happens anymore, because of certain interesting historical events.
I work in a law office. We send and receive faxes constantly. We have one dedicated fax machine, and one of our printer/copier/scanners also has fax capability.
