# Things That Have Become Less Scary With Time

Amputees. As a child I was absolutely terrified by people who had lost limbs. I remember my best friend’s dad had a gangrenous wound on his foot (gross) and at one point they were talking about amputating it. I prayed that wouldn’t happen; mostly because I would have to see him all the time(they lived next door). Now, obviously, all I feel is compassion for those who have lost limbs but as a kid, seeing one completely unhinged me.
