Huh. My nephews move around a lot. Every time i want to send something to them, i either text them and ask for the address, or, if they don’t reply or it’s a surprise, i text my brother and ask.

Who sends stuff to the parents of adults? That just means it needs to be shipped a second time.

I don’t think I can be infuriated by anything well beyond its actual importance anymore because my fury is wholly consumed by events that deserve as much fury as I can produce. Except maybe for the stupid spelling of he word ‘wholly’ which should have an ‘e’ in it.

!. Slammers. Otherwise decent, sensible people who for some reason slam doors, drawers, cupboards - anything. Even worse when they continue to do so after you’ve brought it to their attention.
!!. “Free spirits” who mosey down the sidewalk playing guitar.
!!!. Oblivious / unconfident dingbats in their car who have _oceans_ of room to _safely_ drive around a left-turning car.

In my case, people who have been instructed to do so by the recipients in question. These people see each other in person quite often, so nobody’s shipping anything a second time.

I’m pretty sure that doesn’t normally happen if it would require mailing it a second time . When my son was still getting his mail at my house, he lived a couple of miles away and came by at least every other week.

Not money, maybe a check or a gift card.

In fact, I believe the reason she started doing this is because a few years back she sent a card with a check to my stepson at his apartment, but I guess he was really bad about checking his mail because he had to walk _all the way to the end of the parking lot_, and for some reason the check never got cashed, which made her little accountant brain implode because now her checkbook didn’t balance. So instead of just not sending a check anymore to irresponsible nieces and nephews, she started sending their mail to _us_, making it _our_ responsibility to make sure her mail gets delivered. Which is why I feel like just throwing that stuff in the trash whenever it shows up in my mailbox - it’s not _my_ problem.

(If you’re sensing a lot of animosity towards my SIL, it’s because it is well earned. She is one of those people who always have to be right about everything, and everything has to be done her way. Which gets really tiresome after a while.)

lol, I never send checks to my brother if I can avoid it. He opens his mail – he responds when I send him a gift basket, and I’m pretty sure he gets cards. But he just can’t be arsed to cash checks, and then he forgets about them.

Here’s one for me. One of my cats asks for food all day long. She’s old, she probably can’t eat a lot at once, and she really likes wet food more than dry food. And she likes her food to be vertical – up off the plate, not flat against it. So often I can satisfy her by just scraping the food that’s left on the plate into a little pile. Or sometimes adding a little water, because she likes the “gravy”.

But she drives me nuts! I don’t want to be tending the damn cat all day long. No, it’s not actually that important, and mostly I’m not really doing things that can’t be interupted. But she pokes me (gently, unless her arthritic paws get stuck) with her claws, and it’s just such a nuisance to have the cat nag me all day long.

We have 4 cats. The other three only nag us when it’s getting close to their regular feeding times. Just the old lady infuriates me.

You’ve taken her to the vet., I’m sure.

Given that she hasn’t got anything treatable – I’m sorry to say, I’ve seen that behavior, and it was in a cat in her last few months of life. I wish I still had her here, demanding food every little while and only eating a few bites each time, but still having a purr within her.

Well, she’s been like this for nearly a year, so i don’t think she’s about to drop dead, although she is old and frail. And the reason we often feed her when she begs is because, yeah, she’s old and frail and can’t eat a lot at once, and is too skinny. We are doing our best to keep a little meat on her bones.

She has an appointment to see the vet, and i hope her kidneys aren’t worse than last time.

I bought a gadget that is designed to only feed one cat, activated by her chip. My thought was that if she had a supply of food the others couldn’t get at, we wouldn’t need to keep giving her a spoonful at a time. But the gadget spooks her. I’ll be talking to the vet about other ways to feed her, too.

She’s a rescue, we’ve only had her for about a year. She actually had worse food anxiety issues when we first adopted her. Her prior owner gave her to the shelter because she (the owner) was also old and frail, and was not able to care for the cat. Before that, we had her for a couple of months while the owner was in the hospital, and the cat was fine, then. But she came back from two weeks with her owner with new kidney disease and all sorts of anxieties. I think the poor old lady didn’t keep food and water available to the cat. It’s really a very sad story.

Still, she drives me nuts.

We also have a new foster cat, now, whose owner is abused, and is looking for housing that her abuser won’t find, and where she can keep a cat. It’s been a while because his owner also has medical issues, as well as housing issues. I’m worried about him when he goes back to his owner, honestly. But he’s very cuddly and I’m sure he’s a great emotional support cat, and I’m hoping she can take him back, because the alternative is worse. And he’s much younger, and presumably more resilient than the old lady cat.

There’s an absolute ton of these videos, but with Brits cooking “American” dishes. They often get things hilariously wrong, but the few I watch occasionally are very responsive to their comments section.

We had vending machines at my high school, but at home we called my mom’s ground beef/macaroni/tomato sauce dish barfaroni since the early 60s.

Maybe I’m being cynical now, but I am beginning to wonder if at least some of the time these YouTubers are getting things wrong on purpose, to provoke people into commenting to tell them how wrong they are, which boosts their “engagement” scores.

But that said, I’ve apparently somehow never been exposed to this ground beef / tomato / macaroni dish that some Americans call “goulash”. I’ve always thought of goulash as a Hungarian beef stew heavily spiced with paprika.

But I really came here to post a new very minor thing that annoys me: There’s an old school analog clock on the wall at the office, and no one has bothered to set it forward one hour for DST. And now it annoys me that the clock is wrong. I mean, I am a proponent of just staying on standard time all year, but if we’re going to switch I want the clocks to be right. When I visit the break room after we switch to DST I always set the clock on the microwave to the correct time, but accessing the wall clock requires a ladder, so I can’t just set it myself.

I think we sometimes had a dish like that when i was a kid, but we called it beefaroni. This thread is the first place i learned that anyone calls it “goulash”.
