Actually, I don’t think you can remap the Samsung default keyboard. I know you can remap some other keyboards. I’m probably just stuck with the stupid dash/hyphen where it is. ---

Check your language setting…a recent Android update did similar to me, some different language keyboards that use our same alphabet will have punctuation marks on different keys. Android had bumped me off of English onto something totally randomly different. ---

It’s on English (US). I’ve checked the settings, as well as trying several different keyboard settings. I can make the dash/hyphen go away, but I can’t change it to a comma. There’s actually a setting for the space line of keys. However, the alternatives are limited to adding “.com” and other stuff I don’t need. ---

I switched to MS Swiftkey keyboard, because you can access punctuation from the letter keys (I don’t like having to switch to another view to access them).. except for 2 of the more commonly used ones (comma and exclamation mark) !! Doesn’t look like I can change that either. Shouldn’t be that hard to allow customization .. I’ll try some more. ---

The standard Samsung keyboard I’m now using has the punctuation as an alternative for each letter key, but I have discovered that you can turn that feature on and off in the settings. Maybe you had it turned off? ---

One thing that happens to me infrequently, but annoys me no end: - I arrive at a point where two or more people do access control (taking tickets, or security access control) - These people are deeply engrossed in idle conversation with each other - Some period of fidgeting within which surely must within their peripheral vision, of scuffing my shoes, and of discreet coughs does not make them notice the person right before them. That’s particular annoying when their role is security, not merely revenue protection. - I then proceed, and immediately they notice me and treat me _as if I were at fault._ ---

This one is driving me utterly insane. UTC is the successor to GMT, it’s the time standard for the entire planet (and just happens to also be the current time in Greenwich). It is defined as a 24 hour clock starting at 00:00 at the beginning of a new day. UTC very much does NOT use AM or PM. The clock starts at 00:00:00 and goes to 23:59:59. Yet if you google “UTC time”, it returns the utter bastardization of: 5:55 PM Thursday, July 10, 2025 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) ---

My brother is the king of a certain type of passive aggressive behavior that drives me up a wall. He refuses to learn a new thing and immediately decides it is in fact this other thing that he already knows about. For example: Brother: “what are you making?” Me: “Salmorejo, it’s a cold tomato soup from the Andalusian region.” Brother: “So gazpacho.” Me: It’s like gazpacho, but Gazpacho is a lighter and thinner soup that contains other vegetables besides tomatoes. Salmorejo, is a thicker, creamier and pretty much only has tomatoes, bread, olive oil, and garlic. Brother: So, Gazpacho Me: it’s similar Brother’s wife walks in: “What are you making?” Brother: “he’s making gazpacho.” ---

I think you are supposed to say brightly and loudly, EXCUSE ME. And when they look up, give them a big warm grin and say HI THERE! At least, that works for me. The longer I wait, the more fake that grin is going to be, so I only give it about 30 seconds, these days. Life’s too short. ---

There are circumstances in which interrupting is warranted, though; and I’d say that’s definitely one of them. ---
