My brother teaches at our hometown high school. When he started, he was lamenting the fact that some of his students are the offspring of his former classmates, and that made him feel old. Recently he confessed that he is now starting to get _grandchildren_ of former classmates as students. mmm ---

Another one: I realized when going through my iPod that nearly everything I listen to is from the 80s and 90s and I’ve become one of those people that think all new music sucks. But it does! ---

My son is almost the same age as I was when I was pregnant with him. No way am I ready to be a grandma yet. Especially since I’m pregnant now…that would be weird. ---

In _Back to the Future_, which I do not consider to be an “old” movie, Marty McFly goes back in time 30 years and ends up in 1955. If that film were remade today, he would end up in 1981. ---

When I figured out that I was working on my fourth-grade science fair project around the time that my favorite living pop singer, Kesha, was born (March 1987). On the other hand, I’m glad I’m young enough to still enjoy this type of music. ---

I had my first colonoscopy a couple of weeks ago. Yay. Every time there’s a thread here talking about old movies versus new movies, movies made in the '70’s (and sometimes even the '80’s) are grouped with the “old” movies. Man, old movies were made in the '30’s and '40’s, when the world was black and white. ---
