This goes for the short ones, too. My mother got very good at shortening the sleeves on my father’s shirts. He was 5’3". If he tried to wear long sleeve shirts as they were, then the sleeves would cover his hands to his fingernails.

I don’t fly often, but I try to get an aisle seat, I’ll offer to swap with the leggy dude further down the plane during the flight so he can stretch the other leg. I’m a shorty.

Some decades back, I hung with a group that included 2 tall guys - one was 6’6" and the other was 6’8". They thought it was hilarious to rest an elbow atop my 5’5" self and ask “Where’s FairyChatMom?” Haha so funny…

OK, it was funny the first 3 or 4 times. 😃

But I’ve always been more comfortable dating guys arouned 5’9" or 5’10" (like the one I married.) For some reason, standing next to a tall man make me feel small and insignificant. Weird, huh?

Tall guys know that both Eddie Bauer and JC Penney have lots of tall stuff available online. It’s a little more expensive, though. And now there’s a custom jeans website that I have yet to try, but I’ve like to hear feedback on if anyone else has.

Tall people know that they may be more likely to be taken seriously, but that they can also be inadvertently intimidating or unnaproachable.

Tall people know they look ridiculous on a riding lawn mower.

Tall people know that if they were suddenly transported into a huge crowd of like-heighted people, where they were forced to look everyone in the eye instead of being able to see the entire venue, that they would possibly break out in a cold sweat, panic, and run and hide under the stairs.

[This site has tall men’s clothes.](http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/mens-department.html) No jeans at the moment.

I can’t find it any more (Google reverts to Irish sites) but that site used to be tall shop (for men) and tall girls (for women).

NO! Not weird.

I was just about to post that I must be the only woman on the planet who really doesn’t like tall guys. I have a 6’ limit – anyone taller than that, I will not fuck. The body positioning is just too awkward and uncomfortable. And, actually, if a tall guy tried that use-my-head-for-elbow-rest crap, he’d catch an elbow in his testicles. I’d be aiming for his damn ribs, but my elbows are at testicle level so I’d hit what I hit.

I am 5’2" on a tall day. I prefer men around 5’ 7"-5’9" and if I come across a six-footer plus, I smile and keep walking. Not interested. Tall men are used to women falling all over themselves because, somehow, tall = sexy. I find it awkward. I was recently first-dating a guy who was 6’6". As we were walking into the movie together, I glanced over at him and realized that I don’t even come up to his nipples. When I glanced straight over to my side, I was looking at his _hip_. I realized if he wanted to hold my hand, my elbow would be bent, like a little kid hanging on to Daddy’s hand. This did not make me feel sexy. Then, in the movie theater, he asked to hold my hand. I took one look, realized my tiny hands would be swallowed up in his enormous Giant Hands™ and told him no. He found a girlfriend, who obviously doesn’t have a tall-guy hangup, so I never had to come right out and tell him the only reason I wasn’t attracted to him was (His loud rude behavior in movie theaters – I actually had to scold him about using his inside voice.) pretty much about the height disparity. I don’t want to be with someone who’s physical presence makes me feel like a little girl. Squicks me right out, it does.

I think the obesity epidemic and vanity sizing has fucked up shirt sleeves and lengths for all men. I’m 5’10", which I believe is exactly average for men. I have to be very picky about what brand shirt I buy because most Larges are too short in the sleeves and body.

I can often wear a medium in terms of roundness or heft but I’m not even close to having enough length. I’ve considered that I might have unusually long arms and torso, but I’m pretty sure I’m average. I think shirts of all sizes are just made for people who’re larger around than they are tall.

And the worst part is I’m not even slim. I’m not even a healthy weight - I’m slightly overweight.

Tall people know that they mostly look ridiculous on bicycles. If the frame isn’t sized right they either look like a circus bear or a dog violating a football.

Tall, male canadians know about[this](http://www.mrbigandtall.ca/).

My 6’3" husband can come home and look in our mailbox to see if we’ve gotten any mail before he goes in the house.

I’m 5’7". I come home, open the door, go inside, turn around, and look in the mailbox. He was getting very annoyed with me last winter because this was leaving the door open and letting the cold air in. I demonstrated that not only could I not see if anything was in the mailbox, I could not reach into the mailbox and get anything that was in the bottom, like a small card, without breaking my wrist. If I go in the house, I can stand on the doorstep and look down into the mailbox.

He never thought of that.

My girlfriend is 6’2".

She knows that the top shelves in the kitchen (which go clear to the ceiling) are for storing things you use every day. Dammit.

She knows that when she went to Japan, she was VERY VERY POPULAR with all the guys.

Oh… Ladies, are there sites out there for tall women’s clothes? Her height is disproportionately in her legs (if her torso matched, she’d be about 7’ tall). She has two (2) pairs of pants and is getting desperate.
