That when you take pills, you should not tilt your head back, because…pills float! So put the pill in your mouth, take a drink, and tilt your head forward and swallow. The pill floats to the top of the liquid, at the back of your mouth, and goes down without incident. ---

[/QUOTE] Same here, until I started taking my BP medication – the pills are little football-shaped fishing weights. I tried the lean-forward business with those and they simply fall to the front of my mouth. ---

[/QUOTE] Not all pills float - a good many of them sink on their own (which is great, because I get tired of hunting down sinkers for dissolution testing in the labs!) ---

Well, it looks like not all pills float! Sorry about your predicament. Swallowing large pills is difficult. It makes you wonder why they couldn’t make them smaller and have you take two. ---

They look huge, but when I thought about it, I realized I swallow bigger mouthfuls of food all the time with no problem. You just need enough water to swoosh the pill along with it and it all goes down fine. ---
