Hey, **Rebo** , you two clean up real good! šŸ˜ƒ OK, time for a group hug - everybody gather around - and watch where your hands go!!! šŸ˜› I got my van back from the shop - boy, are my headlights bright now! They polished the lens thingies and theyā€™re no longer all yellowed and scratched. Plus the ride is a lot smoother - I guess balancing the tires did it. We just need to put one of the seats in and weā€™ll be ready to head south. Other than that, itā€™s another night in paradise. Without chocolate. Life can be cruel sometimesā€¦ _\_ ---

**Hazel** -do you have a hardware store near you? Or a Home Depot? Hell, they may sell them at Jewelā€¦ There is product you can buy, that you install using your blowdryer. Itā€™s a transparent plastic film that sort of shrink wraps your windows. You can still see through them and itā€™s much more presentable than duct tape. 3M makes it. No idea what itā€™s called. We used it in this house before we got most of the windows replacedā€“it makes a huge difference. Here is one such item: [cheapwarmth](http://www.acehardware.com/sm-ace-indoor-window-insulation-kit-2506-ah--pi-1286195.html) they have cheaper ones as well. Figure out what windows are the draftiest and go from there. Oh, and put on a sweaterā€“and start baking. Thatā€™ll warm things up. Just my 2 cents. Now I find I have to take #1 son to church. Today I hate having kidsā€“Iā€™m sick DAMMITā€“I was about to take a hot bath and crawl in bed. He has to go shopping with his youth group for poor people for their Christmas Angels programā€“giving gifts to whole families who otherwise wouldnā€™t have a Christmas. F_ck that sh_t! Iā€™m sick! **Haze** space heaters will vastly increase your electric bill is all I am saying. Here in Cali 'lec-tric-ity be spensive! Gas is cheap at half the price. Thanks for the thoughts about the heat or lack there of. I did go up the chain a supervisors at idiots-r-us-heating and she told me not to call there anymore they would call me. The woman today at the warranty couldnā€™t understand why I was upset as why couldnā€™t I see that I had to waitā€¦erm I belive I have I have done every part of my side of the bargain inculding waiting now they arenā€™t delivering. As for BBB idiots-r-us-heating have had numerous complaints against them none of which they have responded to. I am in tears again now - sorry - I am not normally a cryer but damn this is frustrating. It is horrible going home to a house that is cold that has no chance to warm up. ā˜¹ā˜¹ā˜¹ ---

I think you need to take your complaints up the ladder at the home warranty company. Theyā€™re the ones you should be reporting at this point, **mmmmms**. If they sign contracts with vendors to provide service to you, they should be in a position to get you some service. Tell them specifically how long youā€™ve been without heat and tell them who youā€™ll complain to if they donā€™t straighten things out promptly. Do they have a service level theyā€™re supposed to be meeting? My home warranty company (which I never had to use) had guaranteed response times. I canā€™t believe itā€™s not fixed yetā€¦ Glad things are going better, **Cutie**. Iā€™m watching Jonny Quest (and typing at the same time, so Iā€™m not paying lots of attention). Itā€™s rather amusing. Iā€™ll be interested in seeing what my niece and nephew think. Gotta go search for Christmas cards. I should update my list tooā€¦ GT ---

Sheā€™s probably the best fantasy writer out there today IMNSHO. Iā€™m working my way through the de Lint books at the public library. I had read a few of his short stories in several of _The Yearā€™s Best Fantasy & Horror_ anthologies and I picked up _From a Whisper to a Scream_ and _Svaha_ for my own bookshelf. I love his take on urban fantasy, especially when the crowgirls show up. ---

I think that I would be e-mailing the State Attorney Generalā€™s consumer protection branch and ccā€™ing the warranty company. Thatā€™s complete and utter bullshit. Itā€™s not like this is summer. Iā€™m not done; I havenā€™t even _started._ **Mr. Taters** and I are going Friday evening after work. Tonight I need to bake brownies for tomorrowā€™s monthly birthday social. I was going to take my RDO in lieu of the one I have to give up next Friday. However, since I had already obligated myself to make brownies, I will honor said obligation. I have to give up my RDO next Friday because thatā€™s our Christmas party day. I kind of feel like I have to go, soā€¦I guess Iā€™ll be a good office mate and attend. Once again, nothing exciting is going on here in **Taterland.** My son is upstairs snoozing, my daughter is upstairs on MySpace or something, and my husband is sitting at the other computer here in the den. I shall have to make chop-chop soon. I have boneless, skinless chicken boobies out. I havenā€™t decided how to prepare them. Iā€™ll make some rice and green beans to go with the boobies. Well, I guess I should start dinner. I didnā€™t realize itā€™s almost 6:30. ---

Well, I think Iā€™m beginning to get the hang of the basics at this job. Talking to guests, no sweat. Talking to them while trying to get the really ancient and quite non-intuitive computer program to cooperate, definite sweat. Iā€™ll get it, I feel really good about it, but oy vey, that program is upwards of fifteen years old. Unfortunately, new software would be an incredible hassle and more importantly would cost a medium fortune to install, so I guess I get to learn the ancient stuff instead. My coworkers, however, are amazingly patient and helpful. I got taken out today to see a bunch of the condos and stuff so I have some idea what Iā€™m talking about when booking them. It was about 18F and while I was being driven around the property, there was still a fair bit out of outdoor walking. Brrrrrrrrr! But the other two getting the tour with me who work front desk are really cute and polite and nice young (as in 20 at the most, I think, cradle-robbing young) men who were opening doors and getting a stool so I could get out of the SUV without breaking my neck on the ice and stuffā€¦I felt so pampered. Really great guys. Iā€™ll be seeing them around work a lot and will enjoy it. Appropriate hugs and whatnot all around, I havenā€™t been able to keep track of all of everybodyā€™s developments because Iā€™ve been a bit obsessed with my own life. How do people know when Iā€™m reaching for the phone to log off for the night right at 5 when Iā€™m due to leave? Quite literally, I reached for it, and the damn thingā€¦rang. I ended up leaving about fifteen minutes late. ---

I really like Anne McCaffreyā€™s work, and could use a new book by her. It may or may not be a new book, but I havenā€™t heard of it. Very nice photo of **rebo** and the mister!
