there are newspapers in vending machines all over the place here! lots of street corners have em! 🙂 lots of different kind of tea too, whether you like it with or without milk. can’t get: kinder surprise (big wail of sorrow) haribo peach gummies real cheese (the non-pasteurized kind like brie and camembert) yop (drinkable yoghurt) on the flip side, the milk here is a lot better than the boxed crap they have in france. same goes for orange juice. had to buy sunny d over there (and i’ve never even drunk it when i was here!) ---

oh, and europe can keep it’s version of fanta. the thought of that light stuff makes me sick now…i think i overdosed on it. i began to get cravings for the toxic-colored minite maid orange when i was living there, because all there was was coke, sprite, fanta (orange or lemon) and gini (which i do miss) ---

**MattK** mentioned it, but I wish to emebellish: **Brause Brocken** by **Hanover**! They are little squares of flavored (\*\*what,\*\*Matt?) _candy?_ which effervesces in your mouth and you can get the **Hanover** brand in Germany , as far as I know. My favorite flavor is **Waldmeister**. Oh and I must mention the **Schneeballen** (Snowballs) a donut-like confection found in **Rothenburg ob der Tauber** my home town! 😃 Also, I don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but the **Weinbrandbohnen** (_brandy-filled chocolate beans_) are also a delight and one I could only find in Germany. I give them as Christmas gifts. Quasi ---

Quasimodem, Waldmeister rules! I never had the Hanover brand ones, but I guess they are similar. Frigo has squares, little candies and the regular little pouches with the powder stuff. Sometimes I eat so much of it my mouth hurts. ---
