Things you do to freak yourself out

I read about Jack the Ripper and look at the photos of the bodies. Especially the one of Liz Stride-that one ALWAYS gives me the heebie-jeebies! Just because of the sort of smile she has, almost. So creepy.

I was turning out into a lane, and had to stop a little bit, so all I head in my vision was one of those animal trailer semis. Then it started driving forward, but since it filled my entire vision, I could have sworn I was sliding backwards… scared the heck out of me.

When I’m driving fast on a long straight road I pretend that the road is really a huge treadmill and I’m giving the car gas just enough gas to stand still.

Mostly I freak myself out if I imagine some aspect of existence.

You know the theory that every time someone makes a decision, another alternate universe is created? Think about the billions and trillions of other universes, other yous, that there must be if that actually happens to all six billion+ of us. And if you include animals, insects, etc in the equation…

Krys92gp, the same thing happens to me sometimes (or something very similar). For a few seconds I will see myself sometimes as others may see me. Just objective, you know? And I’ll think…“I’m me.” Then two seconds later I’ll be going on through my day like nothing happened. I know this happens to a friend of mine, too.

Also, I just read It, so the CLOWNS ARE OUT TO GET ME.

I think about how I’ll die.

And thanks to that planecrashingintome phobia, I think of…well, planes, crashing into me sometimes when I hear them flying overhead…usually late at night when I’m trying to sleep.

I’m loving this thread, man!

I have to say I agree with pokey on pondering about existence. Nothing freaks me out that much.

I also do things to freak me out, intentionally. I’m an undergrad majoring in Biology. I have classes at this huge Biology/Medical Sciences building. One day I was leaving it late at night (I’d been studying) and it was very dark. The building was pretty much empty. For some odd reason I decided to go where the Human Anatomy labs are. I got to the one hallway where the labs are, and it was all dark except for the room at the very end, where the lights were on. I thought of going over there out of curiosity, when I heard the sound of something similar to a chainsaw. My body froze from head to toe. I knew they were just pre-dissecting the bodies so they could be used later in class. But still I got scared as I don’t know what.

Sometimes while Iam washing my hair in the shower I worry that the water has turned to blood and when I open my eyes Ill see it washing down the drain.

I work 2nd shift and drive home at night through some back country roads through farm lands etc. I sometimes feel that a monster that could run really fast will catch up with me and do the “twilight-zone-gremlin-on-a-wing” thing and scare the crap out of me

neither of these has happened to me… crosses his fingers
