Any group of people who adoringly follow a leader. Preacher, Pop-star, Politician or Pope, it doesn’t matter. The fact that Oprah can influence national book sales, or Matthew Mcconaughey can [significantly boost](https://www.fastcocreate.com/3043559/behind-the-brand/the-lincolnaissance-what-matthew-mcconnaughey-taught-a-car-brand-about-forg) auto sales, or the Mormon Prophet could command his followers not to drink lemonade _and they would obey_… really gives me the creeps.

People who are enraptured and influenced by someone they’ve never met are very disturbing to me.

Urban exploration videos, particularly houses that have been abandoned with all the previous owners possessions strewn around. I always wonder what situation prompts people to run so fast that even their family photos are left on the wall. Double creepy when there’s a bunch of kids toys.

I drove through a wind farm in midland Texas about a month ago. I felt like the turbines were going to notice my little car and bend down for a closer look at any moment.

I wouldn’t have a baby monitor if you paid me. I heard a story about a family with a little two year old girl who was scared of “the man in monitor.” Turns out the thing had a wifi connection, and someone had hacked in and was talking to (and presumably looking at) the toddler. O.O I think I heard that story on this site.

Billy Bob Thorton gets furniture passed down by someone related to you?

Similarly…Billy Bob Thorton creeps me out.

As does pool filters with glass sections that you can see the water in.

Also…the grills of old trucks.

Forgot to mention earlier…really big, over-sized, flags.

Living in Howls moving castle. If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s about a woman who falls in love with a man who lives in a constantly moving castle. The thought of living there gives me the heebie jeebies.

I was afraid of those sorts of sewer gratings long before IT, I refuse to stand in front of one no matter how well its grated.

In contrast, dead fish handshakes. It just feels like the other person isn’t _there_, yet you expected them to be. Like going to pick up the full jug of milk out of the refrigerator and only realizing it’s empty after almost flinging it across the room

If you want to amp this up, stand right at the base of the corner of a high-rise during strong winds and look straight up along the building’s edge… and watch it [sway back and forth](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1590/do-tall-buildings-sway-in-the-wind).

Not sure if I mentioned this already but I’m afraid of storm sewer grates. I won’t park near or walk too close to one. Because I’m paranoid that I will klutz out and drop my phone or keys down it.

I’m aligned with the guy on the first page who said he can’t stand to see people kiss their kids on the lips. I saw something even worse once:

Toddler just finished eating ice cream and covered his face with melted ice cream as toddlers are wont to do. Mom grabbed kid by the ears and swept her tongue in a big circle around his mouth to “clean” him off. I about puked.

I don’t mind cylindrical buildings, but[this one](http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/9/0/7/5/5/ar128838336855709.jpg) irks me. Not only is it smaller below that on top, but it’s roof is not level (deliberately).
