This is what I came in here to post! I lived in France for about 6 months back in the late 90s, and when I returned home my dad gave me a $20 bill. It looked so…foreign. Apparently the 20 got a facelift while I’d been gone!

Also, this thread reminds me of one of my favorite parts in Romancing the Stone, where Jack and Joan come across a plane that crashed years(?) earlier in the jungle:

Jack Colton: [picking up a magazine] Dammit man, the Doobie Brothers broke up! Shit! When did that happen?  
Joan Wilder: How long have you been down here?  
Jack Colton: Forever.
