Movies I love and everyone else thinks are mildly inexplicable to actively terrible: - Dr. Phibes 1 and 2 - Theater of Blood (another Vincent Price vehicle after the unexpected success of the “Phibes” movies… features Diana Rigg in drag for much of the movie… yum!) - Baghdad Cafe - Glen or Glenda (which I’ve seen so often that I’ve now figured out the symbolism) I also wish to go on record as never having lost the faith with the sublime Dusty Springfield, whom everyone else dropped until a new generation came along to exclaim in rapture, “Woah! Where the hell did THIS come from?” ---

Alien: Resurrection. Plums with cheese spread on them! (well, I dunno if anyone’s ever tried this, but when I mention it to someone 95% of them go “ewwwwww”, the others say, well, doesnt sound good but people put cheddar on apple pie so what the hey.) ---

Music: I have a strong affection for the Korean art of _p’ansori_, a sort of one-man opera that is actively repellent to most non-Koreans–but I love it. It is performed solo with no set or props apart from a fan, and it isn’t sung as much as it is growled. An example of the art can be found in the film _Chunhyang_. Food: Kimchi. I really like kimchi, and I eat it in just about any sort of dish–mixed in with spaghetti sauce, in a burrito, in soups. Needless to say, the Goboyfriend loathes the stuff so I have to be discreet when I sneak some home. Movie: _Showgirls_–It’s a trashy jewel in the exploitation film subgenre. “I’m erect, why aren’t you erect?” ---

As for the OP, the only thing I can think of that I like and have tried to get my friends into was the movie _Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills_. I LOVE this movie, but whenever I’ve tried to show it to someone they look at me like I should know better. ---

Well food stuff… I like marmite with ritch fruit bread. In fact I really enjoy this combination, having often had marmite sandwiches and fruitbread as school lunches I discovered that together they are even better. I enjoy raw garlic, but don’t indulge due to its smell. Strawberry Jam and Cheddar Cheese sandwiches are great. ---

(even i think that’s kinda gross now) oh, and pickled okra. i love me some pickled okra. can’t think of anyone else who likes it outside of my family. ---

Music: (1) A band called KidneyThieves (which has since vanished, I believe because of copyright by a prior band called Kidney Thieves). (2) Some of the more obscure old Yes albums like Relayer (especially the track Gates of Delerium). Food: Raw macaroni and peanut butter. Tasty, but _very_ loud. ---
