Do people really feel the need to tell us that their children are SOOO AMAZING and SOOO GREAT and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wonderful every two seconds? It’s like they’re trying to convince themselves of that very fact. Speaking of which, what do parents get out of parenthood? Please don’t give me any of that unconditional love crap, I for one would like to argue both words are used inappropriately in such a context. “I wouldn’t give it up for the world, ah heh heh heh heh _cough wheeze_”. You know, it’s okay to admit you turned your life into hell to us. Just not to yourself I suppose. Or your kids. Man, that would be funny. “Johnny, Sarah - Mommy and Daddy have an announcement to make. You little bastards have ruined our lives. _sob_” Classic indeed. ---

Why not? OR IF YOU PREFER ME TO DODGE THE QUESTION: Why go insane because someone provides a dissenting opinion? That said: I figured people would just laugh it off and say: “check out the childfree threads, asshat, this has all been done before”. It was mainly for my own amusement. Then someone told me to fuck off and kill myself. That sort of put a dampener on things. ---

All I’m saying is that the thread title says, “Things you miss before you had kids,” so, why would you even open this thread? I’m assuming you don’t have kids, right? It’d be the same if I went into a thread for Childless by Choice people and said, “You’re all idiots for not having children. When you have no one to take care of you in your old age, don’t say I didn’t tell you so.”\*\* It’s just inappropriate. \*\*BTW, this is NOT my opinion, just making a comparison. In fact, I’ve posted in CbC threads to say I respect those who make the decision not to have kids and I apologize for people who give them hassles about it.
